MemberHang on, so having only been involved in the Music Industry for the last 20 years, you are no doubt aware that your own industry has irrevocably damaged most commercial music since 2001 by heavily clipping and limiting the end product released on CD?
Broadcast Audio Processors such as Breakaway have to work with this destroyed audio and try and re-equalise these terrible masters to produce some semblance of an appealing product.
It’s a classic case of Garbage in – Garbage out!
Breakway has the cleanest processing engine of all the commercial Audio Processors available – the author of Breakaway is also is responsbile for designing respected high end television audio processors so how about informing yourself a bit more before going off on a rant!

MemberTry Cleveland – has some great presence! Just back the speed right off and give it a power boost!

MemberUnfortunately Musikhaus Korn doesn’t ship outside of Germany..
However I have found a freight forwarder who only charges a fee of €10 plus shipping expenses. They give you an address for the German company (in this case Musichaus Korn) to ship to, then they resend it via USPS/Fedex internationally.

Anyone keen on giving it a try?

MemberI can’t see why not as the ASIO soundcards support both sending a livewire stream "to" the network and receiving a livewire stream "from" the network (eg the livewire stream from the network can be configured as the soundcard INPUT and the output of the soundcard can be configured as the livewire stream going to the network)

MemberAs far as I know, as long as you have your wireless ethernet radio setup too look like a "piece of wire", you just configure the Axia Asio soundcard by going into it’s settings and selecting the audio source and destination – I’ll try and attach a screenshot!

MemberHi Dimitris,
There is an alpha version of the ASIO Axia Livewire driver available here:
http://axiaaudio.com/release-notes/axia … e/download
I’m currently using the WDM version however as I was having some issues with the sampling rate sounding off with the ASIO version and Breakaway.
Here’s a screenshot of my settings:

Matt

MemberG’day Adam,
Have you tried the New York preset with the Speed backed down?
It tends to have a bit of vocal boost and might do a better job of controlling the music levels.
Cheers,
Matt

MemberAgreed – the best way to get low latency (under 500ms) is to go with a Barix Instreamer and Exstreamer – being hardware it’s very stable and allows up to 192kbps MP3 VBR – you can get a pair for under US$1000 – see http://www.barix.com for more info!

MemberI wonder if there would be a way for Leif to stock the cards on his website – maybe put in a bulk order and resell them for $249 or $299 depending on what sort of deal he can get from Marian?
I know I’d buy one as the card seems impossible to get in Australia as well – the dealer hasn’t even replied to my email and they don’t even have Marian products listed on their website! 😯

Member🙂 Good to hear you like my Stereo Challenger settings.. I found by limiting the amount of Gain/Attenuation as well as slowing down the Attack time resulted in a much smoother effect that stops the stereo image from "pumping" as much..
How about trying the Twente preset then – it’s very similar to Plutonium except the bass is punchier – you might be able to use your existing Plutonium settings as a starting point, alternatively I like the sound of Drive +1.5, Range 50, Power 60, Speed 35, Bass Boost +1

Member
We have a translator within our main signal contour giving me the perfect chance to run bbp vs our omnia 6exi.
We play 70s and 80s…some are remastered. Any suggestions on another preset that keeps the punch…song to song consistency and calms the highs a smidge? I’m still amazed by this product…
Give this a try! I think you’ll be blown away!

MemberWow you have been busy! 🙂

MemberSee Screenshot.
While we’re on the subject of the HPF – any chance of a 20 Hz option? 🙂
I know there’s debate about whether it make an audible difference compared to 30 Hz but the competition has options down to 20 Hz so if possible it would be great!
🙂

MemberIt sure is – it’s amazing! 🙂 It’s fun comparing BBP with Live with both set at 20 KHz – you can really hear the superiority of BBP!

MemberAnyone tried one of these yet – Audiotrak Prodigy HD2
It has very impressive output specs..
http://www.audiotrak.net/products/prodigyhd2/
"The HD2 incorporates many audiophile grade features: a low jitter oscillator, short signal paths, specialised power caps, and a fully differential output stage."
# high quality AKM AK4396 120dB(a) S/N ratio DA converter for extremly high quality 2 channel audio playback via RCA output connectors (5Hz – 40kHz frequency response)
# triple OpAmp design for audio output with three high quality Fairchild NE5532 OpAmps on separate sockets (can be exchanged for tuning & customization)
# fully differential output stageOK so it doesn’t have Digital Input so it would probably be best used for MPX output to a transmiter…
Very cheap on ebay etc, under US$100
