Anyone know where this card can be obtained in the USA? Dealers listed here seem to have no idea.I know on the Marian site it is 139 Euro plus 59 Euro shipping to the USA.Any suggestions? I would think they would consider vendors like Bswusa or full compass here in the states to sell this card.

December 18, 2009 at 7:34 pm #9239yorkie98ParticipantMaybe Leif can confirm but I think the ONLY card he states for sure has straight through DC (Zero tilt) is the Trace8 which is much more money and wasteful as it has 8 outputs.
If the Alpha has zero tilt too, at this price point (€139) I will be getting one of these straight away.December 18, 2009 at 9:24 pm #9240Q106MemberCard does have dc straight.Another eng has confirmed this as well as Marian. That’s why it’s a good buy.The 139e is just thru Christmas,i believe.
December 19, 2009 at 1:28 am #9241Lee XSMemberJust to confirm the Marian Trace is DC straight and sounds like an absolute bargain, i’ll be getting one of these myself to play with. It’s been getting a lot of praise from a few people I know.
Also while we’re on the subject of DC tilt….what Tilt settings is everyone getting on the scope for the M-Audio 192??
I’ve tried 2 different scopes and they are both giving different readings so I think one or both of them are out of cal???

the worst that can happenDecember 19, 2009 at 4:18 pm #9243yorkie98ParticipantLee, have you tried using the paralell port to create a square wave? you can then cal your scopes, or at least tell which one is reading correctly.

right.. why dont we give the nice americans a real reason to get out of there and come to europe… and don’t beef up.

Good idea!, I just need to dig out an out printer lead so I can chop it up….not seen one of those in ages! 😀
December 19, 2009 at 8:02 pm #9246yorkie98ParticipantYou could just buy a 25 pin "D" plug from an electronics store for small change, you’ll also need a resistor, maybe get a few, a 10K, 100k, 500K and a 1Meg to suit different card input levels. An old printer lead tho should work if you can find which wires are pins 2 and 25. You will still need a resistor to tone the level down a bit but it dont have to be a precise value.
December 20, 2009 at 5:15 am #9247LeifKeymasterAccording to Marian themselves, Trace Alpha is also DC straight! Bob Hawkins has tested and confirmed. I’ll be buying a couple of cards as soon as I can! As it is, with DC straight outputs for not much more than the price of a Juli@, this card appears to be the absolute best choice for MPX.
Other than that, they’re nice and stable cards — we’ve used Trace Pro and Trace D4 in Linear Acoustic products for years.

Good luck finding a US-based radio group that will approve a purchase from overseas…much less a smaller broadcaster.
December 23, 2009 at 8:29 am #9249Dj BuikMemberThe problem these days for European Companies to export to the USA is the high Euro compared to the Dollar.
This makes these products to expensive for the American market. This goes the otherway too:
I wanted to buy the following from the states:
http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Denon-DNHD2500-Hard-Disk-Media-Player?sku=801239This is very cheap compared to Europe. But they don’t ship to the Netherlands 🙁
December 23, 2009 at 11:44 am #9250bofhMemberI wonder if there would be a way for Leif to stock the cards on his website – maybe put in a bulk order and resell them for $249 or $299 depending on what sort of deal he can get from Marian?
I know I’d buy one as the card seems impossible to get in Australia as well – the dealer hasn’t even replied to my email and they don’t even have Marian products listed on their website! 😯
