timmywaParticipant
I can't completely relate. But I run BAOne with one HD Core and streaming add-on 24/7 on Windows Server 2016 (same core OS as Windows 10) on a consumer grade Dell Desktop 4th gen i7 CPU 16gb RAM. I run it on my user, not as a service (no management pkg) and have never had it just crash on me. I've manually taken it down to make config changes or windows updates. But the program itself has never once crashed or stopped working. I only use Breakaway Pipelines hooked to my station playlist automation, no physical sound cards are in use, unless I am editing or setting cue/intro points in my software. Again, not exactly the same situation or use case as you, but again, I've never had any reliability issues with BAOne.
timmywaParticipantStereo Enhancer?
March 4, 2019 at 2:53 pm in reply to: Stereo Enhancer – How to Keep Bass frequencies more mono? #14962timmywaParticipantI've enabled Mono Bass a couple times just to try it out, this is on HD/Streaming only. But it feels like it reduces the bass. I don't know the technical terms for that but it just seems like there's less bass when Mono Bass is enabled. I know some StereoTool presets use that feature and the bass actually sounds better, or more pronounced. Anyone else get this when using it in BaOne?

Hi aleph99,…
To turn down the output volume of BreakawayOne, go to Misc, I/O, Output. That's where the output volume control is.
But I don't think that controls levels into the encoder(s). That may just be a master output (speakers/asio). I don't know for sure but I've spoken at length with Leif and Jesse about the streaming output levels. They're just hard-coded.
timmywaParticipantAs far as I'm aware, it's not adjustable anywhere. And also, it has been perfect for my uses.
timmywaParticipantI understand that it's hard-coded based on the codec chosen and bitrate, etc. So, in theory it should be at the best level for the codec you have set.

What about the "bit-perfect" aspect of WASAPI? Is that also found in KS or WaveRT?
timmywaParticipantI am really enjoying the natural sound of JG Modern. It's fairly strong but also quite transparent. You do need to use R128Gain or some tool to level your audio to -23db, as mentioned in the preset description. The unique factor is there's no real use of AGC, it's just controlled by the multiband section. It lets things live and breathe. If you have something really loud and dense and it's followed immediately by something softer, there's a bit of recovery you'll notice… But it's not at all a negative thing. Try it!
timmywaParticipantWhy would you ever need/want to stream at 320?? That is very excessive. Unless it's on an internal network, you wouldn't want to stream this over the public internet…
timmywaParticipantThey designed it to be automatic based on the target destination. For streaming, it depends on the codec and bit rate. For FM or HD, they have their own optimal settings. The big push for BAO is to make things simple and not have an over-abundance of settings. My guess is there's no plans for this to be a setting.
timmywaParticipantNope, this means that BAOne can now accept VST Plugins, not be one.
timmywaParticipantEnd of extended support for Windows 7 is January 2020. http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/windows-7/windows-7-support-end-11364081315419
The biggest frustration with Windows 10 is the difficulty folks have with disabling automatic updates/reboots. I understand there are ways to address this depending on the version (Home vs. Pro vs. Enterprise) you run. If you don't connect it to the internet, that's a non-issue.timmywaParticipantBe sure your audio path is like this:
Audio Player Output > Breakaway Pipeline 1
Breakway Pipeline 1 > BreakawayOne Processor Input
BreakwayOne Processor Output > Speakers or another Audio Output (Sound card, etc)You can use additional Pipelines to route audio to different places. This is very simplified and your setup may be different, but this is the general idea.
timmywaParticipantPull the Final Drive down to -3. That was the instruction I received from Leif. I'm not sure, though if it does EXACTLY what we're thinking it does. I feel like this is more like an intensity or density setting. I've dragged it all the way down and it continues to show 0db on the Output Meter, just much more dynamic content. I've understood that they hard-coded the volume level at the encoder based on the bitrate and other settings.

I am still a little confused.
If I take advantage of the free upgrade for old Breakaway live users, will I have to purchase the streaming addon if I want to stream directly from Breakaway One?
Yes, the streaming module is an extra purchase. But well worth it!
