Ah, found another issue with custom encoders… It doesn’t push out or pick up metadata. Hmmm
timmywaParticipantI removed the -x switch in the command line and it worked! Found this bit:
-x
swap bytes in the input file (and output file when using –decode).
For sorting out little endian/big endian type problems. If your encodings
sound like static, try this first.timmywaParticipantI added the Lame.exe to the breakawayone folder and now the custom encoder enables but all i hear is white. noise… so odd
timmywaParticipantWhen I use that command-line (it’s there by default), it fails to enable. It’d be great if the program was setup to automatically shift the codecs to the appropriate sample rates… This obviously isn’t a huge issue as moving form 44.1 to 48 is not a major game changer. But a lot of audio in radio is moving to 48k/24-bit.
timmywaParticipantI remember getting that version through Leif or JesseG directly back in the day… But Not sure why it wasn’t published…
timmywaParticipantCan we confirm that 3.19.84 is the latest “legit” version that’s available? I know there’s other versions “out there” I just have this one and think it’s the latest. Let me know.
timmywaParticipantAny updates on this?
timmywaParticipantJust another bump on this one.. 6 months later… Still nothing. Anyone hear anything? Whispers?
timmywaParticipantI believe you also have to download a package of the encoders as MP3 and a couple others are built-in, but HE-AAC and some others are not, if I recall.
timmywaParticipantJust bumping this nonchalantly to see if anything floats up….
timmywaParticipantI don’t think there’s an output gain/volume adjustment. When I’ve asked Jesse and Leif about it in the past, they swore that it is already set perfectly and there’s no user-facing adjustment for that. That has been many years since we’ve discussed this though, so I can’t be sure.
timmywaParticipantThe HE-AAC codec will select V1 or V2 automatically based on chosen bitrate. I believe if it’s 48 kb/s and above, it uses V1. Below uses V2, which enables the “enhanced stereo” which I forget the name.
timmywaParticipantI quite enjoy Rustonium. I tweak most of the settings to mellow/balance it out. But as a starting point for me, it’s been great. My station plays new country and back to the 90’s. It’s aggressive, but the amazing-ness of BreakawayOne makes it sound so great! You can listen to my station at https://bit.ly/listen2us. I’ve used several presets over the years, including reference, the Leif one (i can’t recall the name) and Jesse’s Modern one. But I always came back to Rustonium. My main adjustment is to pull down the Final Drive to -2.5, which way calmed the preset down. I believe it was intended for FM, not streaming, per se.
timmywaParticipantNot to be a forum-nazi, but this is the BaOne forum, not the BAE forum.
timmywaParticipantThat is good news! Thanks for the update, Milky!
