So does that mean that as soon as I turn on ASIO I will only be able to process the physical inputs and outputs of the soundcard? (i.e. taking microphones or line inputs, processing them, then sending them back to the soundcard)
The music playout software I use, OtsAV, is ASIO compatible, but I’m guessing only one software program can access the soundcard at a time. Does this mean that when I use ASIO only OtsAV or BA Live can be used, not both? Just wanting to make sure.
Dr.JMember
Hello leif 😉 , the "twente" preset is very good , you can listen the result here : http://radiopop.relay-network.com:8012/listen.pls 😀
The 0.90.67 run very good on my system (pentium dual core 1.8ghz under win xp sp3) , with asio driver 😀
Just tried listening to it: Prince – Purple Rain, there are some serious problems. All garbled and distorted. Time is ~4:00AM EST (Canada). Checked a couple of other online stations to make sure my connection was okay, and everything was good.
Dr.JMemberSorry, but I haven’t seen this issue. I use WinXP Home SP2, P4 2.6Ghz, 512MB, SB Audigy Soundcard.

Dr.JMemberGood idea, I second that motion.
Dr.JMemberDitto on the BreakAway ASIO. I primarily use BreakAway for DJ purposes and it does a fabulous job, but I would love multiple inputs/outputs for mixing purposes.
Dr.JMemberI like the sounds of:
BreakAway Broadcaster (Maximum loudness for FM or Web)
BreakAway Live (Low latencey for DJing or Web)
BreakAway Personal (Perfect audio for personal listening)Dr.JMemberThis is the closest I can get to clipping in any other preset. It only happens when I crank the BA volume to greater than -3db. All other volumes are set to max (WMP, SoundCard, etc.). Anything less than -3db in BA works without any clipping or distortion.
Dr.JMemberMy system does the same, but only with the Helix preset. All the other presets work fine. You can reduce the distortion by lowering the bass levels in BreakAway, but you can’t remove the clipping completely. As already stated, all other presets work great.
Dr.JMemberThis sounds like the proper operation. If you were to pause a song you don’t want it to kick back in any different than it was when you paused it, do you? I believe BreakAway is telling you what settings/levels are currently active and will be active when you restart the music. This being said, BreakAway has a very fast response time, therefore any sound you start to process will be corrected quickly.
Dr.JMemberBeen running it for about 3 hours without any problems. I haven’t gone through all the presets but it sounds great on the Reference Heavy default setting. Two thumbs up!
