Have you tried using ASIO from Breakaway before you open OtsDJ at all? I wonder if this is a soundcard (driver) issue of not supporting more than one client on its ASIO interface at once? Not all soundcards do that.
The pipelines (licensed copy of Virtual Audio Cable) don't support ASIO.
JesseGMemberThat's a feature, not a bug. Some people like to continue using them even if they decide Breakaway isn't for them, or have moved on for whatever reason.
You can always remove (or temporarily disable) those just like any other drivers (hardware/virtual/otherwise) on your system from the Device Manager. Quite simple.
JesseGMemberI haven't "pulled away". 🙂 And just to add one more fact, Leif was already part of Telos, through Linear Acoustic, for quite a few years before Breakaway existed, and a couple more after that before Breakaway became public. They already had a dominating market share of audio processing for television (this year was the 13th Super Bowl using Leif's processing btw).
I'll agree that Breakaway needs a refresh at least to keep what's existing still working. At the very least.
JesseGMemberHave you set the "L/R Ref Level" in calibration to be less than -0.0dB? Setting that below should avoid any "overs" with the output. Those DSPs won't help because those are only for input and encoder plugin paths.
JesseGMemberYou'll need to run the audio through and record in real-time. There isn't yet software that can do file processing with Breakaway's processing.
JesseGMemberThis is a much more complete tool to check for much more than DPC latency

highly recommendedJesseGMemberThat depends on several factors.
The audio density near the tops of the peaks. The specific codec, version, its encoder settings (not just bitrate), and the specific decoder/version (a decoder meeting "reference" requirements doesn't guarantee there won't be audible differences, much less inaudible signal differences ofc). If there's any sample-rate conversion. Etc…

I really want this software but I have to know how to make it works with my softwares i.e serato Dj & Serato scratchlive.

Did you ever get that figured out?JesseGMemberthe ProStream uses the latest Omnia.3 development platform, yes.
None of the Breakaway development happening is a secret after the products it's in are announced. Breakaway, the software, is not forgotten. Some very recent changes required for certain features will make it much more easy to create some proper Breakaway products again from Leif's unified codebase.
JesseGMemberEvery system can be different. I usually try to figure out what the best amount of buffer count is by trying to find the lowest buffer size that can work stable without using more than 8 buffers. Then I'll switch the buffer size to double the stable size, and if needed keep going up till I find the next stable double+ size.
Tim ended up having problems with only 2 buffers btw. I recommended the above technique. I haven't found any less than 3 buffers to be stable on a system yet.
JesseGMemberon Plutonium, the AGC and Multiband already have compression ratios of Infinite:1, so turning the power above 50 doesn't do anything to them. You can see it in the gui because the range of the AGC and Multiband doesn't change above 50. 😉 In some presets of course, it does increase the ratio, up to Inf:1 at 100.
JesseGMemberDon't use the low pass filter (roll-off) because the codec already has its own filtering that's setup to work adequately for the codec. The bandwidth can be set to 20kHz though, to avoid any potential problems (in the processing) caused by rogue super-sonic sound. 🙂 But it shouldn't effect the codec itself though, just the same.
High pass filter should be used for the same reasons, as you can prevent sub-sonics from effecting the first band with sound that won't be reproduced by 99.5% of the systems out there. That 20-30 Hz or below area. Breakaway's high-pass filter is very steep.
JesseGMemberIt sounds like a buffering issue. If all of the sound (coming out of Breakaway) is skipping, then increase/adjust Breakaway's buffering. If SAM's microphone's sound only is skipping, then adjust SAM's buffering it uses for the microphone. And check back here to let us know how it goes.
JesseGMemberLeif mentioned a few days ago that 9's Livewire support *might* be ready for showing at NAB, but that it will be a shipping feature with the next update. 🙂
Actually the holdup this whole time is that for whatever reason, the standard Livewire driver can't be used, and a custom one had to be created.
Cheers
JesseGMemberUsually within 24 hours. I'm sure you were good to go right away, but didn't update your post here. 😉
