HI guys,,
I just want to ask if will be any new version of Breakaway or something is died?
I am asking this because we are just in mind to migrate to an other processor hardware or software but if someone knows it would be helpfull.June 11, 2014 at 1:59 am #13894MilkyKeymasterHi. I am sorry I can't answer your question. All Breakaway users seem to be in a "black hole" at present, with no information coming from the developer for quite some time. There has been mention of some new releases, but, I understand that you can't build a station on hollow promises, so, if you need to move right now, it might be safer to look elsewhere.
June 11, 2014 at 1:12 pm #13895pap169MemberThank you for your answer Milky.Probably it might be better to migrate to an other solution. It is shame to left dead the BBP as I am not the only one that based on this product and I hope Leif to upgrade sometime. It is really shame………..
June 19, 2014 at 2:54 pm #13896mpegfailsafeMemberIt would be a real shame to see this become abandonware.
There simply isn't anything like it for web streaming. I was able to make Stereotool close, but no cigar. I also don't want the distortion masking clipping for the web. 🙂
I think even an updated version WITHOUT UNDO would be great, that way at least any bugs that cop up would be fixed. While I haven't had any problems, I am also not running Broadcast, only Live.
June 21, 2014 at 10:12 pm #13897pap169MemberWell only hopes and nothing else. 🙁 We have tried stereo tool but we haven't convinsed our ears that is the same or better from BBP.I am saying this again that need the Breakaway Broadcast Processor to move on newer version and I hope Leif don't leave as disappointed.
Best regards

For instance, especially so with the Home Theater version. But even the broadcast versions will have several presets that are much more relaxed and open."
June 23, 2014 at 1:05 pm #13899pap169MemberThank you djtek I'm hearing some good news 🙂 ….. But any news when will be the updates?
June 26, 2014 at 3:22 pm #13900mpegfailsafeMemberI personally think CGSmooth sounds amazing. And really, there is nothing like BLive for web streaming.
Good to hear that there appears to be some secret development going on at least!
I wondered if Breakaway would ever turn into something like the Telos ProStream to be honest. That's using the Omnia-3 Net Core if I remember correctly.
September 2, 2014 at 7:30 pm #13901JesseGMemberthe ProStream uses the latest Omnia.3 development platform, yes.
None of the Breakaway development happening is a secret after the products it's in are announced. Breakaway, the software, is not forgotten. Some very recent changes required for certain features will make it much more easy to create some proper Breakaway products again from Leif's unified codebase.
September 2, 2014 at 7:52 pm #13902mpegfailsafeMemberPoint(s) taken!
I made the assumption that the ProStream was the O.3 simply because of some of the information about the processing. Interesting stuff!
Good things can take a while. 'Cant wait to see what Leif has in store for us! 🙂
What's unfortunate is the constant unhappiness that the software isn't being constantly meddled with.
When you admit you can't top Breakaway with other software packages, you're as much as saying you're unable to beat what you already consider to be the best… AS IT IS.
I make good uses of both popular packages. I have Breakaway running in two top-20 markets. I find it entirely amusing that, with about $800 worth of stuff, I'm easily matching the quality and loudness of the best processors the big guys can buy.
What does it really matter, that the best you can get was written some time ago? Put the stuff in… make good use of it. If it is never upgraded, then perhaps something else will beat it. In the meantime, nobody on the other end of the radio knows (or cares) that you're processing your station with a common PC and 2-year-old software.
I wonder now, what will they think who thinks PC is not reliable, when they see Omnia11 plus. It's damn PC. Now what?
And congrats to Leif for latest achievements. Now 3 top Omnia models are breakaway.
