Win 7, Audiobox USB, OTS AVDJ.
Without Breakaway I can select either the ASIO or non-ASIO selections and all works fine.
With Breakaway and ASIO disabled I can get sound but because I use video the latency lags the audio to a point where it is problematical.
Each video (tune) has a visual leader in time with the beat to help dancers keep in time. The latency makes the video and audio out of time with each other. When I enable ASIO (either with the Audiobox USB or the inbuilt Reattek sound) I get no audio and the test tone does not work either.
The Windows selections do not match what Breakaway ASIO calls the I/O.
Windows is still showing the same selections from when ASIO was disabled?I have tried this with Breakaway DJ and Breakaway Live but no go.
Any help would be appreciated.January 12, 2015 at 10:37 pm #14053MilkyKeymasterI use BADJ in ASIO mode exclusively, and play almost exclusively music videos. Both the ASIO works with Ots AVTV and also any lag in the the lip synch is undetectable – even in HD. I have got a VERY grunty video card (ex gamer's), so that may improve the video processing. I'm also using an M-audio 192 PCI card, not USB.
Next time I have my Otsbox fired up, I'll take some screen shots of my setup.
January 12, 2015 at 11:26 pm #14054JAylmerMemberI am suspect ASIO will reduce the audio latency so the lip sync is no longer noticeable.
With ASIO disabled, the latency is bad but everything works.
With ASIO enabled, nothing works, not even the test tone.I would be interested in how Breakaway I/O is setup for any ASIO install and also how these present as Windows selections and in particular OTS.
It appears with ASIO that you need to setup Breakaway's Right and Left channels separately both for input and output.I can't get a handle on what I am doing wrong or perhaps what needs bumping.
What is significant about the test tone not working?
January 13, 2015 at 2:53 am #14055BokiMemberIt's ASIO "mod" used in Breakaway.
Try to find older driver for your soundcard.January 13, 2015 at 8:35 pm #14056JAylmerMemberI've now tried a number of Presonus Audio Box sound card drivers with identical results.
When Breakaway Live is installed it adds three Windows playback devices: Breakaway Pipeline (line 1,2,3)
When you select ASIO in Breakaway the Pipeline selections are not available but they are with ASIO disabled.
I do not understand this?
All that is available to select in Breakaway is a number of Input L & R Output R & L
Input L & R Output R & L or anything like them do not appear in the Windows selections?February 12, 2015 at 5:06 am #14057JesseGMemberHave you tried using ASIO from Breakaway before you open OtsDJ at all? I wonder if this is a soundcard (driver) issue of not supporting more than one client on its ASIO interface at once? Not all soundcards do that.
The pipelines (licensed copy of Virtual Audio Cable) don't support ASIO.
February 19, 2015 at 6:01 pm #14058JAylmerMemberHi Jesse,
Currently I have Breakaway uninstalled so I can do gigs. However in a few days I can try your suggestion.
A simple check may be to start Breakaway and see if the I/O selections are available in Windows (without OTS running)??
If I cannot see the Breakaway I/O ports in Windows then I guess I can't progress from there? It's disappointing I own Breakaway DJ & also Live and I appreciate the benefits of using Breakaway but I have to have ASIO for latency.
Not a great workaround but I am also wondering if the Video can be delayed by the same amount as the audio? Perhaps a box with HDMI in/out with a delay knob?I would be prepared to reload my Windows 7 if there was a chance of resolving this, what thoughts?
