Like I said before, it's kinda sad for a guy with his competences others have to defend him lol
Seems his products works now with Win10, but who really cares about that now? eh?
If you know Jesse also helps developing Stereo Tool who is a full package for less money as his XE crap.

This is a bit harsh to say all this about Leif. I do not defend anyone but…
Just ask yourself what You would do on his place.
It's sad others have to defend him on his own forum, that's the big fail from Mr Leif.
The products? I have them all, so as a good costumer I expect to treated like a good costumer, so far your argument Bojcha.
If I was him, I had the decency to talk with us costumers to explain the software is abandoned forever or just keep telling crap at the NAB or IBC.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah right… The same shit over and over again. The fact that he still doesn't dare to admit Breakaway is abandoneware is getting ridiculous. I hope he will be at IBC this year.
He will be there R. πŸ˜‰ but it's always the same story, and when you turn your back, he just laughs inside and go on with what he does.
Trying to improve the Omnia 9 and Software from the A/X … and like I mentioned before, he smart enough to ship us off.

Sh*t happens…

Can you please optimize it for Win8.1×64 so it would not shatter sound on load?
That would be really nice for me ^_^

These ProStream projects are not for FM use I asume? So it's cheaper to buy an old machine and run Breakaway on it, so far your argument, most of us run a FM station on software processing. But Leif is a smart guy, he sold us a 0.9000000000 version, not a full 1.0 so he doesn't have to upgrade it by law. So we are tricked. Thanks Leif πŸ˜‰

Yup that’s pretty the same story Leif told me @ IBC2012, btw nice to meet you in person Leif πŸ™‚
btw I was drooling all over the place with all the sweet equipment there lol!
Rumours,

Well yes, and they are both tru and false…
On another forum i discovered some photo’s of another breakaway version, and since i was at the IBC last September i tried to have a chat with Leif himself about this.

So what became clear to me after the chat we had…

1. Leif has no obligations to Omnia in terms of software licences.
2. Leif has ideas to update breakaway, but there are some other priorities regarding another hardware omnia box.
3. The future hardware box is an lika an Omnia .9 but less control, and possible somewhat less loudness. (but much cheaper)
4. There is a possibility breakaway will get an update Leif quote "yes, i definitely thinking about an BBP update with more control" unquote

So lets wait and see when Leif is willing to give us what were all been waiting for….

Kind regards,

Jeroen.

I carerfully listened (for 20 sec πŸ™‚ ) and this is Zenith πŸ˜‰ Final Drive maybe bit down and bass added bit more.

edit: ow he confirmed πŸ™‚
@ radio. it’s not mistake to have DeClipepr from StereoTool at all!!. Default settings should be good. BBP loads plugins before AGC, so ideal place for DeClipper.
Maybe "vail" to 93% πŸ˜‰
Hehe also tried the Zenith with a little bass boost in the low mid compartment, sounds very nice, none of the BBP plugins are used now.
Boki and Radio Oude Stijl thx for the tip πŸ™‚
Sure:

– 82.146.61.187:8000 for the AAC+V2 in 40kbps
– 82.146.61.187:8010 for the MP3 160kbps

Both streams are still in a testphase.
Just listen carefully to for example the ‘ss-es’ and you’ll know what i mean
Hi Radio,

I’m listening right now to your MP3 stream, how do you get your mid-bass section that great?
I’m also use the oldies preset, but it sounds not that great in the 125hz – 500hz section.

– 174.37.194.139:8425 in MP3 192kbps Source are 48Khz WAV files.

Thx πŸ™‚
Ok..

The alpha card works when I use asio4all but still fails to work with its own drivers. I tried to look for older drivers but there are none available that I can see..

Any ideas on what I should do. Should I stick with asio4all?
You best stick with the asio4all drivers, Marian is lacking to make decent drivers for vista/ win7, for the 64bit version there are still no drivers available. How about that?
If possible use Win xp and everything will work fine.
We always used BBP but have lately started using BAL for the webstreams. The absence of clippers does make the sound on the stream ‘sweeter’ which is good.
But at the same time I do miss the 15uS pre-emphasis which made it just a little bit easier for the encoders (AAC+V2 and MP3).

I would like to see the possibility of 15 and 25uS pre-emhasis in BAL… πŸ™„
Is there a link where I can listen to your stream R.?

with AAC at 96kbps or above, you should be using the Low Complexity profile, aka LC-AAC, aka "regular" "normal" AAC, you’ll get a more transparent sound from it… and you won’t sound like 22kHz sample rate on players that don’t support HE/PS profiles. 8)
Ok thx JesseG,

switched to LC-AAC @ 128Kbps, must say it sound more open πŸ™‚
Thx for the tip!

Jesse is so right, use edcast instead the construction you are dealing with.
With the right encoders you can setup multiple steady streams as well.
Here you can find a topic for setting up edcast with breakaway.

Succes

After all the Marian trace Alpha will be used 8)
I believe there are still no drivers for Windows 7 64bit?
Hi,

it will be running on a 32bit Win XP Pro πŸ™‚ the other (64bit) workstations are doing other tasks for the moment.
They are equiped with M-audio interfaces that works fine for now.

BTW totally off topic your Advancast transmitter is still doing his job 24/24/7 @ 30w on 1 tuned dipole πŸ™‚

@Jesse, Motu has 64bit drivers for win7 but are crap drivers, so it’s not only an issue from Marian, other brands seems to have problems to write good drivers except M-audio and ESI. Strange πŸ˜•

Can I run BBP and BBP Asio together on one computer?
With two soundcards that aren’t the same type, that shouldn’t be a problem with either of their drivers, or the way they access the cards. And it’s definitely no issue for BBP to do that.

I’ve run several BBPs, a B Live, and a BAE, all at once. =)
Ok thanks Jesse, for the clear answer, now I can start to rebuild that system.
After all the Marian trace Alpha will be used 8)

Thx
