Now I’m confused. When I first installed BADJ, I just set the buffers to the lowest levels. Everything worked, so I left it that way. I was "tinkering" the other day, and hit the "Test" button in I/O configuration. I noticed that the jitter was running at 300% (!), so I went through the process of trying various buffer combinations. 512 dropped the jitter down to 10%, so I left it set at that. Later that evening, I noticed the odd pop or crackle coming in, so it seems that I get better performance even with 300% jitter.
In a related question, I use an M-Audio audiophile 192 soundcard, and it has it own buffer settings. I have always had it set to the minimum (64). Would there be any advantage in aligning it with whatever buffer count works best in BADJ or is this paramter ignored?

So is BADJ going to become the "poor cousin" just because you designed it for big speakers in "DJ" venues?
I bought it because I live in a situation where most of my audio experience is video tracks on a very big home theatre screen and I needed the program to fine tune my audio enjoyment without introducing visible latency to my A/V experience. I love it, but find the limited number of presets a bit of a "downer".
Maybe I bought the wrong product? Give me something that provides the very low latency for video display, with the supurb audio manipulation you provide.

I understand the principal of buffers, and the need to keep them as small as possible, but can someone please expain the "Buffer Count" option, and whether that should be smaller or bigger. I have Buffers at 64 and buffer count at 2, and everything seems to be working fine.

I don’t know how Ots do their video, but the TV version I use runs at a true 720p, and is capable of 60fps. It’s only since I’ve had OtsTV that I have been collecting music videos. I’m running BADJ on 48/2 with no crackle at all. Is that a bad thing?
I would love a walk through of some of the controls. For instance, on the "Signal Settings" screen, I can set the volume to zero, and it sounds fine, but the bar graphs above it are going full window and there is a red bar going the other way on peaks. I assume this is overdriving, so I backed off the volume to about 8.5 before the red blips went away. I also don’t understand the "EQ Headroom" which is at 0.00. The M-Audio card seems to cope with a pretty hot input without gagging.

I know that BADJ was created for DJs, but I bought it because of the very low latency, so there is no perceived lag in video synch in my home studio setup. The only down side is the limited number of presets, which seem to be tilted towards big bins used for large venues.
Whilst my speakers are no slouches, technologically and in size, my room size and acoustic characteristics just do not work with the "heavier" presets like Plutonium. The best I have found to suit the room is "Zenith", but I wonder what else is out there. Is there a possibility that more "gentler" presets will be added in the future? Is it possible to create and add my own presets?

I can see the possibility that the "DJ" name will give way to something more "homey", or a home version may evolve with the great low latency, but a different range of presets.

OK, I have downloaded this program, and would like to use it to check my speaker setup. Is there a help file or readme somewhere so I know what I’m doing with it? I’ve got the mic, phantom power etc. Where to from here?
