Sorry if I missed this… considering the subject has gotten so much attention lately…

Is there an ini for bbp-asio? I don’t see it anywhere (not even in search).

Wondering if I can open obsolete presets on that version.

Yes they have an INI. Breakaway also uses its own ini code because built in windows methods end up being bad when there’s any real amount of data stored in one. Long story short, it doesn’t write/update the INI file to the drive until Breakaway is closing. 8) As such, you’ll want to probably make a copy, edit that, and then copy it back over while Breakaway is closed.

    Thanks, Jesse.

    I would… if I could find it.

The .ini files are in my XP machines, but nowhere to be found in my Windows 7 installs.

Something I’m still missing? How can Breakaway remember where it was without the .ini?

    (confused)

Have you gone into Windows Explorer > Organise > File and Folder Options > View and turn on "Show Hidden Files", uncheck "Hide Extensions for known File Types" and uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files"?

I’m not sure why microsoft ever made that option default, for "known" file types. Gee what’s harder to remember… a 3 letter extension, or 5,000 different file-type icons??

    Mmmm kay.

You might find them in C:Users*userfolder*AppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram Files (x86)

Well… I did notice I was running an earlier version… so I upgraded this morning. Still no .ini file, but a couple of new presets in the list.

I went into the folders section & opened everything that made some sense… extensions, hidden, system folders, etc.

Here’s what my Breakaway folder looks like in the program files section:

In my XP installs, the .ini file shows up in this folder… but not in my Windows 7 compuers.

I have Vista not Windows 7, so apologies if this doesn’t help. In Windows Explorer, when I view a folder in Program Files there is a button on the toolbar at the top called Compatibility Files. Click that and it takes me to a User folder containing .ini files etc.

That did it! Very strange that it wouldn’t show up in a search.

Thanks for all the effort. Appreciated much!
