KeymasterI use an external USB3.0 spec sound device, with ASIO support. Have a look at the ESI U24XL https://www.esi-audio.com/products/u24xl/. This would probably function similar to the PCI Maya that you are familiar with.

KeymasterMrKlorox is correct – buffers make a lot of difference. You need to change them in the M-audio control panel, and then use the test mode in BA1 to find the lowest latency. Sometimes, you can manually select a better option, but usually BA1 gets it right. If the buffer is too small, you will get "crackles" or artefacts whereas, if the buffers are large, it takes too long to fill/empty them.
Of course, because BA1 adds some processing to the audio, there may be nothing you can do except listen from the mixer, but I have been able to get the audio from music videos to accurately lip-sync through Breakaway 1.

KeymasterOr just use the free upgrade option to BA1.

KeymasterYou don't say what your old version is, but it is possible to export from some versions, and import into BA1. There may be issues with compatibility, depending on the complexity of the preset.

KeymasterI've looked everywhere for an option to "launch on startup". It used to be there on earlier iterations. I use the service, so it isn't a problem, but I have a feeling that it will start up in whatever state it was last in. I'm pretty sure before I went to the service option, it would still launch when the PC was opened, but it is a long time ago.

KeymasterI've had this happen a couple of times when my USB audio device appeared to be functional, but no sound was coming out. I used to just wake the PC from Sleep mode via "Wake Up On LAN", but now I wake it up and force a reboot before connecting. It takes a little longer (PC has an SSD) but it makes sure everything is restored.

KeymasterI'm sure there is an option, but I won't be in a position to fire up BA1 until about 18 hours from now. I will post my findings.

KeymasterI am also an owner of BADJ, and have accepted that my purchase price of $99 is lost forever. There are many utility programs that have been released in the past from many developers that simply fade away as technology moves on. Breakaway DJ is one of them.
I understand that the total sales of this product was quite low, so the cost of maintaining it and keeping the licensing current was higher than the returns.

KeymasterHave you looked at the two videos that Leif produced at the top of this topic? That will probably answer some of your questions, but, Leif is the only one that would be able to provide the technical stuff.

KeymasterLogically, the audio is going through some more processing and, depending on the abilities of the processing path, this will create a delay. If your audio chip is ASIO capable, that will reduce the delay, and tinkering with buffer sizes (smaller is better) will help, but may introduce artefacts if too small.
Some A/V systems even have the ability to adjust the video delay, by using a slider so that you can get the lip sync back with the audio.

KeymasterYou need to press the second button from the bottom, or go into the Julia software interface manually and set the parameters there. BA1 picks up the ASIO config from the Julia setup. If that is wrong, then you will not be able to proceed.
The image is saying that the Clock SOURCE is invalid, not the clock RATE. You will need to set this through the Julia interface.

KeymasterIs the Juli capable of 192K? If so, have you gone into the device interface (ASIO Driver Interface button) and set it for that? Then you need to refresh for the soundcard parameter to import into BA1.

KeymasterI can't answer your question on what will or won't be added in future releases, but I can refer you to a link which might give you a workable alternative.

Not sure how ASIO got mentioned in that setup guide at all there afterburner1, but I would just ignore that part of it. 😉
[/quote]I only included it, JesseG, because my sound card has ASIO capability, and I took a chance that afterburner's did too. If the card doesn't support it, the option doesn't show in BA1. I should have mentioned that.
