Hello!
Just recently, I discovered Breakaway Live and was going to use it for my internet radio station (JEMP Radio). It works perfectly and the processing is great. Unfortunately, as you know, I am unable to purchase a license for BA Live. I have to use BA One.
Well, I've tried configuring BA One to match the configuration of BA Live and I absolutely cannot get it to work. BA One tells me my audio input device is stalling. But when I run BA Live, there are no issues.
Any ideas? I'd love to just use BA Live and would gladly pay for it, however, I've been told by Support that's not an option, which kind of doesn't make sense to me… :\
Thanks in advance.
October 30, 2018 at 7:19 pm #15085JesseGMemberDoes it sound like it's working fine (without glitches)?
October 30, 2018 at 9:18 pm #15086amichelsMemberIt doesn’t work at all when I’m using “kernal” for I/O. “Wave” got audio to play through, but with an insane amount of background noise. This really sucks because I want to use Breakaway Live, which works great. But I can’t buy it.
October 31, 2018 at 11:49 am #15087MilkyKeymasterAre you using ASIO?
October 31, 2018 at 2:50 pm #15088amichelsMemberNo. Will that work with Kernal or Wave? I’d use that driver instead of the Windows one, right?
October 31, 2018 at 8:07 pm #15089MilkyKeymasterYes! If you have an ASIO capable sound device, use it as the primary. You need to set up the buffers etc both at the card level, and then inside BA1 to get the least latency without hearing glitches.
October 31, 2018 at 8:50 pm #15090amichelsMemberI’m sorry, but I cannot figure this out. Is there any way you could provide step by step instructions? I’ve downloaded ASIO4ALL. I have a Realtek HD sound card. Now what?
November 1, 2018 at 1:44 am #15091MilkyKeymasterYou do not need ASIO4ALL if your sound card supports ASIO and drivers have been provided. ASIO4ALL is a program which emulates ASIO, but just adds another layer to the latency. What is the make/model of your sound card?
November 1, 2018 at 5:11 pm #15092JesseGMemberPlease uninstall ASIO4All as Milky suggested. It's not real ASIO, it just pretends to be ASIO and uses Kernel Streaming, which is already built into Breakaway products from day one.
So… to give you step by step instructions, we need to know how you want the audio to be routed…. from the point of your automation software or analog input, to the point where your streaming encoder is, if you're not going to use BreakawayOne's encoders.
You can draw it on paper and put a picture here if you want to, if that's easier. 🙂
November 2, 2018 at 12:07 am #15093amichelsMemberI’m using the onboard sound device (I know…), Realtek High Definition Audio. Windows 10 machine.
A split 1/4” to 1/8” cable runs from the L&R output jacks on my soundboard, and then into the Line In/Mic jack on the computer. From there, the audio goes through Breakaway as the sound device is selected as the input The output is Breakaway Pipeline. AltaCast receives its input from Breakaway Pipeline.
This works perfectly with BA Live, but obviously with ads. If we can make this work with BA One, that’d be awesome.
Thanks!

Granted, I have to use Wave instead of Kernal streaming, but it all seems to work fine. Do you have any tips going forward? The best preset I can use for music and talk seems to be Neutral Voice.
November 4, 2018 at 8:08 pm #15095JesseGMemberI'm glad you figured it out.
Tips? A million and one. You'll have to be more specific. 😉
