    For edcaststandalone.log …![/quote]

There is even a simpler solution

Edcast doesn’t care about the logfile not being writeable 😉

DPC Latency doesnt show anything special after a few mins:

I’m pretty sure that there is *something* like a bug in the new pipeline version. The skips only occour with the new pipeline version on the same system as i run .77 with 0 no skips on.

My audio was suddenly skipping like mad for no reason with .95.

I checked the pipeline config and found this:

Pipeline 1 and 2 are for breakaway, pipeline 3 and 4 are dummy pipelines with audio i created to see if breakway was causing the problems. Clearly not, even the pipelines with just audio from winamp and no breakaway on them skip like mad.

There must be enough CPU power there:

Yes i have the same problems. .95 seems to have a new "pipeline" version that causes this problems.

Heck i speak dutch and English! Will post the same answer in 2 languages.

What you are trying to do is not possible with breakaway audio enhancer. Because its juist made as a cheap/simple audio enhancer for listening on your computer.

However what you want is possible with breakaway live. Thats made to also proces line in audio. Maybe you can ask Leif if you can "swap" your current breakaway enhancer licence for a breakaway live licence and only pay the difference in cost between those 2 licences.

Is it realy the external encoders that make it instable? I’m using simplecast with the Windows Legacy MP3 (ACM Codec) and installed the LAME ACM Codec into my system. Not using any built in codecs in simplecast. But it never crashed.

^ Might this be an idea for leifcast too?

Edcast on the otherside is the most buggy piece of *&^$# i ever worked with 😯 I dont understand why software that has been released about ages ago can be still so buggy. Why do you recommend to use edcast with BA anyway Leif? It only causes headaches 😉

This is the same for CARMEN TV (local product in The Netherlands). You’ll need 2 soundcards. We did some testing with it early this year. You have to connect the line out for the "main" soundcard to the line in of the 2nd soundcard and let breakaway run on the 2nd soundcard. And hook up the line out of the 2nd soundcard to the modulator.

But i don’t recommend using breakaway on the same machine as your playout! We did also, and the machine couldnt keep up, video (cpu intensive) started hicking. A dedicated computer for breakaway live is advised.

Dont think that audiostocker does a lot, the built in processing (AGC) and clipper in SAM Broadcaster does most of the magic 😉

However, i do expect BW Broadcast to sound better.

Alright, seems that Breakaway live is a good choice then. It doesnt need to sound like MTV off course, as i mentioned.. its just a small local TV station.

But first thing to do is replace our current FM chain* with BW Broadcast 🙂 Then its the TV’s time.

    Regards,
    Ray

    * Its not a "chain" to be honest… its a computer running the built in AGC (5band) processing from SAM Broadcaster with audiostocker in front 😳 Interesting setup, isnt it?
