I have just seen the WinLicense topic on the BAE board, it refers to a recent Avast AntiVirus update. I have added the breakaway EXE's to the exclusions list and both BBP and BAE now work. Many thanks to spotty69 and JesseG for discovering the cause  🙂

I have installed that update which has updated the pipeline and BAE is showing in control panel > programs, however a BAE link does not appear on the desktop or start menu or by searching. If I run the BAE exe from Program Files I get the WinLicense error. BBP process will appear in task manager when run but does not load.

Excellent, thanks Jesse. I intend to use the DeClipper and would of otherwise routed into that before Breakaway if this wasn't the case. I'm still on the fence about switching from BBP as I like the adjustability of the Challenger Stereo Enhancer (even though I rarely actually change the settings) but the new presets in BAO are rather nice  🙂

Breakaway is at a point where it is working well and sounding very very good. Yes, it would be nice to see an update with some new tweaks, presets or 'toys', perhaps even the 'Undo' algorithm, if that's viable.. but the thing is, Breakaway works excellently as it is. Let's not exaggerate here, Breakaway is consumer level software, very good software at that, and reasonably priced considering the work that went into it and what it does.

For me, using Breakaway for the last few years has put my faith in Leif and the team, and whether or not the software gets an update, if this is as good as it gets, that's fine. I don't think you'll find anything else out there for the price that does the job better.

No doubt there is a very good reason why there has been no update. If there was a critical update required, I'm sure Leif would have it on his priority list and it would be dealt with.

Give the guy a break, like all of us, he is allowed to earn a living. From that perspective you cannot blame him for putting the bigger projects first, it is good business sense to do so.

Leif has given us ground-breaking software. Be grateful.

We have both of those plugins and they are awesome  🙂 would like some more punch and impact though, and open up the music, escpecially when it has been crunched by so called 'mastering engineers'  😛

We'd like to integrate Declipper and Natural Dynamics with BBP, is this possible without using Stereo Tool?

Really like the sound of the Undo feature. Will this be in the update for BBP? and if so, when will that be?

Dell Optiplex – some of the models had bad capacitors which caused random crashes, CPU spikes and erratic behaviour – might be worth taking a close look at the electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard, look for leaking/dried electrolyte or bulging at the top. A google search will reveal the models most affected. Hope this helps

I have Edcast 3.25 Standalone running, fed from VAC. However I’d still like to try and get it running as a single plugin. It looks like it is an issue within Edcast. can anyone help? 😕

For the moment as a workaround I will run BBP into Edcast Standalone using Pipeline or VAC.

Has anyone else had this issue of disappearing encoders?

Update: Created user password, run process as admin, still no encoders. I guess the password trick is a red herring.
-found the appdata error was BBP looking for the dsp when it had been moved to a subfolder – I was trying the cfg files in BreakawayBroadcastPlugins and BreakawayBroadcastWinampPlugins to see if it was a simple issue of location.

    Hi Jesse 🙂

Tried creating the dsp_edcast folder in LOCAL_APPDATA (…documents & settingsusernamelocal settingsapplication datadsp_edcast ?) and copying the cfg’s. Still no joy.

I recall once upon a time on an xp setup I got the encoders to show after a reboot by setting up an admin account password, the trouble is I’d like all machines to boot into xp and run – in case of power failures/crash etc..

I will try the password trick again, see if that works. Do you have any other suggestions? 🙂

Also, the issue is the same with v3.25, you have to run seperate instances in the encoder plugin list, eg.

    1) attenuator 2db
    2) dsp edcast dll 1 (mp3)
    3) attenuator 1db
    4) dsp edcast dll 2 (aac)

Btw, the current install is a clean xp install.

Update: Reverted to XP and CPU usage is now down to around 20% when running just BBP. 😀

I’ve never been able to get stable audio using KS. Been having to use DS and now Wave.

    Hey Leif,

Upgraded to this new version and now the clicks and cutting out are becoming more prominent, yet still erratic and intermittent: http://www.snapdrive.net/files/160655/f … 7_1919.mp3

Running in Low CPU mode. Asus Xonar D2 on W7. DS mode. Symantec AV and Edcast only things running.

Any thoughts? I’d like to get back to max quality as having some issues with sibilance on some material, need those clippers 🙂

    Thanks again

    Steve
