Seems obvious, have you added the license keys to both instances?

What settings are you using, it's pretty fantastic?

Go into Settings and then click I/O settings, the buffer settings are in that page.

Max out your buffer sizes in BBP. Not number of buffers, 2 is usually fine, but push the buffer sizes all the way up.

    This is simplified:

Audio player output set to Breakaway Line 1, then in breakaway have the DSP version of your encoder, like Edcast, hosted and that's really it. The main idea here is in this situation, you don't need a soundcard, just point the main output of your player to breakaway line 1 and that's it.

Is it very useful if all your program is quite modern and in WAV or FLAC format? Does it damage audio in any way? Or is it a kinda I'll step in if I see something off?

I've been told several times by Jesse and others to always run Live at 0dB. He said any adjusting needed can be done after breakaway, for example, in edcast… YMMV.

In Breakaway Live, you have to go into Settings and then into IO Settings. Then you can edit the buffer settings there.

Winamp switched from CT to Fraunhofer in version 5.62. Google for version 5.61 and grab the aac+ encoder from there. Good luck!

Here's the link to 5.61 from FileHippo:

    Riplee,

I know you can pull the invalid link from the post and add the missing : between http and // and the link should work.

This may not be the best, informitive answer. But the best advice I ever heard was, "use your ears". I'm partial to Rustonium. I've also learned that jamming power up to 100 and lowering the drive to -3 or -4 is a very nice sound. But only you can determine what sounds great!

    Good luck and welcome!

I thought the sound quality was great. I mean, you’re using breakaway!

I know this isn’t what you asked for, but for streaming, you should always do some crossfading to at least attempt to thwart any stream rippers out there who are just stealing your music and doing who knows what with it. Obviously, crossfading isn’t the ultimate solution to this and maybe you couldn’t care less. That’s cool too, but I wanted to offer a quick hint on that.

    Thanks.

Even freebie Winamp and freebie SQR Crossfading plugin will do good transitions, nearly perfect in most cases. I was using that for years until I was able to invest in Station Playlist, a more robust and complete radio automation suite.

Again, I’m curious to know what settings and presets you are using and if you use any effects or outside gear to process your audio.

    Thanks!

I’ve not yet listened, but you could prompt more response by giving some clue as to what you’re using preset-wise… Just a thought.

I think Leif is an incredibly talented and all around good guy… But this extended "absence" really is starting to feel like an invitation to start using Stereo Tool… It’s a sad thing because I love putting my loyalties towards a product that I believe in and easily recommend to many others. I still have a thread of faith that at some point, I will come to this forum and there will be a new sticky post that says Breakaway 1.0 (or whatever). But when Stereo Tool Basic with Declipper is $119… it’s hard to stay away knowing that it’s alive and active and being constantly developed.

I really love what I have in Breakaway Live and have no complaints. It works incredibly well and I have no issues with it. I’m not even interested in new presets or anything, just the Undo feature is making me drool! My buddy who works at an FM station here in my home town got an Omnia.9 and it’s outstanding and no one on the dial sounds as great… There’s a station that’s got an Omnia.11 and it’s nowhere near how good the 9 sounds.

I guess what I’m lamenting here is that Leif has to do what’s right and best for Leif. And we can only assume that Breakaway isn’t. I wish he were more forthcoming and open about it so we can all really decide what to do. If he said it’s due 4th quarter 2013 or 4th quarter 2020, at least it would be something. If he said that he has no further plans at this time for Breakaway, then we’d know something.

I mean nothing against Leif as a person, as mentioned, I think he’s a great guy and very, VERY talented. And we have to respect his need to do what he must for his own well being.

Thanks for a moment of free expression.
