First of all a happy 2013 for everybody!
At the start of this new year i’m very curious what Leif got in his sleeve for this year…
Come-on Leif, chime in an show what you are cooking in your secret kitchen.

My guess: Leif is, among other stuff, busy working on a cheaper version of the O.9 (O.7?)
But if we are lucky Leif will chime in and will let us know just how realistic our hopes are or…
… if we are very very lucky Breakaway wil become the new Omnia AX/E. or…
If we are very, very very lucky Omnia AX/E will include ‘Leifcast’, or…
If we are very extremely, outragiously and unlikely lucky Leif will indeed live up to the promises made: a new Breakaway. But…

Nobody wants the new software more than I do, however I don’t think being unkind is going to cause Leif to run and jump right on it! 🙄

It was Radio Oude Stijl who said that.Anyway, this forum still is the support site for all the Breakaway products.

Can you please explain why it is unkind to say there is probably a higher priority than this forum? The new Breakaway was, on several occasions, promised to be released summer 2011… then late 2011. I talked to Leif during IBC 2011 and he, again, promised a new Breakaway. After that it got real quiet.Understand that if Leif is too busy with Omnia I can totally understand. I love Breakaway but business is business and money is money. But be honest about it and tell us you can’t live up to the promise anymore. Or, if that’s not the case, at least feed some information. That would generate more understanding than playing dumb.
So, what I think is really unkind is ignoring the online Breakaway Community whilst being ‘always online’ on FB or whatever.

I also can understand that he is very busy with other projects. That’s why i opened this thread.
If he only can tell us what the plans are for the Breakaway products, and at what point we can suspect new products or versions.It’s ok with me to move the Breakaway Community to a Facebook page.
But i also think that his private Facebook page is not the place to ask him about new Breakaway releases.i Think than leif is a very very good engeneer but poor salesman .Do you remember all octimax product ; abandonware , volume logic ;abandonware …..

There is one thing that bothers me the most if Breakaway turns out to be abandonware.
All those critics out there that had serious doubts about using software for a mission-critical part of the chain could have been right…I wrote Leif a private message message thru his Facebook page.
This is what he said, and i quote: "I will get back to Breakaway when I can."
He is very busy at the moment with other projects and other things in life.
I think we need to give him some slack.Anybody who want to ask him something, do it thru his Facebook page.

I think than leif should stop selling software in beta version, pending a final version , or stopped the marketing and stopped his website.I have a license for bbp ,live and enhancer and i ‘ m affraid to see this happening on this website because selling an outdated software is not very pro.Sorry leif .
If leif is too busy with omnia or personnal life for breakaway i can understand but than he say to this community forum "the future of breakaway".
Because i have buy a license for octimax and volume logic too and it’s lost forever.
For me now it’s the time of "basculed" to an other soundprocessing software or buy a cheap hardware machine 😥 .
I think Leif is an incredibly talented and all around good guy… But this extended "absence" really is starting to feel like an invitation to start using Stereo Tool… It’s a sad thing because I love putting my loyalties towards a product that I believe in and easily recommend to many others. I still have a thread of faith that at some point, I will come to this forum and there will be a new sticky post that says Breakaway 1.0 (or whatever). But when Stereo Tool Basic with Declipper is $119… it’s hard to stay away knowing that it’s alive and active and being constantly developed.
I really love what I have in Breakaway Live and have no complaints. It works incredibly well and I have no issues with it. I’m not even interested in new presets or anything, just the Undo feature is making me drool! My buddy who works at an FM station here in my home town got an Omnia.9 and it’s outstanding and no one on the dial sounds as great… There’s a station that’s got an Omnia.11 and it’s nowhere near how good the 9 sounds.
I guess what I’m lamenting here is that Leif has to do what’s right and best for Leif. And we can only assume that Breakaway isn’t. I wish he were more forthcoming and open about it so we can all really decide what to do. If he said it’s due 4th quarter 2013 or 4th quarter 2020, at least it would be something. If he said that he has no further plans at this time for Breakaway, then we’d know something.
I mean nothing against Leif as a person, as mentioned, I think he’s a great guy and very, VERY talented. And we have to respect his need to do what he must for his own well being.
