Clive,
Can I Assume that the cd’s play smoothly when BA is not loaded or in bypass mode?
timmywaParticipantThanks, Leif! I keep learning!
timmywaParticipant[quote author=”Leif”]Probably DS since it has crossfading etc.
Yes, Wave/DS output to KS BBP input is the best idea, since KS is the native language of audio drivers.
Windows actually handles the Wave/DS to KS conversion, no matter what sound card you use.

Is there a reason software like Winamp or WMP don’t use KS for output?
timmywaParticipantYou might unclick the Realtime priority option and see how that works.
timmywaParticipantEnhancer won’t use ASIO drivers. This post should be moved into the BBP/Live forum.
September 7, 2009 at 11:29 pm in reply to: 1db of attenuation before edcast for low bitrate stream #8285timmywaParticipantAs far as using RTA as a scope and meter… You say to check for clipping and distortion at the decoder end. The ways I’ve tried to do this, it’s always affected by whatever I set the volume to. so it’s not really "attached" to the decoder say in Winamp. It’s attached to the wave out. On the receiver end, how would I accurately check if there is clipping with RTA? Jesse showed me a cool winamp dsp plugin that gives me a spectrum analyzer and a meter with clipping indicators and it’s attached right to the decoder and is NOT affected by any volume controls. How do I make RTA do that?
timmywaParticipantYes, I believe you can. Or you can opt for the standalone edcast… but if BBP is giving you the socket, I would plug it in!
timmywaParticipantI think your encoder needs to be pulling audio from the soundcard… or the Output from Breakaway’s i/o control. The unprocessed audio is on the pipeline (input on i/o settings).

timmywaParticipantExcellent! Make it a checkbox like Noise Reduction!
timmywaParticipantLower the Range value on the Processor for him. That should keep it from expanding.
timmywaParticipantHe’s asking what the CPU Ghz is rated at. For example: Pentium4 @ 3.0GHz or Pentium II @ 250MHz, etc…
timmywaParticipantI wish someone here would publish a list of Windows XP services that can safely be disabled. I know there are tons of forums that tell you that you can disable 90% of them. But I also know that you can over-do the service disabling and compromise the OS’ stability. Some easy ones would be the spooler, firewall, indexing, zero config….
Anyone care to share?
Thanks!
timmywaParticipantWhat about Final Drive?
