This is an old version!
Please check this topic for the download links for the latest versions.

Now with Windows 7/Windows Vista WaveRT kernel streaming support!
This is huge. More stable, much lower delay, potentially cleaner audio.
I literally just got it working, so there’s probably bugs, but please try 🙂.

November 1, 2009 at 7:53 pm #4937Maniak2000MemberHello. I installed this new version, and now it detects my sound card without Safe mode (DS interface) yay))).
And the first bug – When switching to USB headset output (KS interface), following error comes up: "Error starting audio Engine: Unable to find usable pin.
Device does not support requested format, or sound device is busy"… If DS or Wave interface is used (Output) everything works fine. Sound card works fine in KS interface. No other bugs detected….yet
P.S. "Volume control" effect seems to be turned on by default.
November 2, 2009 at 2:27 am #4938LeifKeymasterThanks for testing, Maniak!
Just to be sure, the USB headset worked in the earlier versions?

November 2, 2009 at 7:52 am #4939Maniak2000MemberYes USB headset worked fine in version 1.20.12 using KS interface in XP and 7.
P.S. No volume up down keys? I thought you were going to add those (customazible)
November 2, 2009 at 8:57 am #4940LeifKeymasterJust to clarify, this version is only an interim beta, not a release candidate.
Thanks for the info, I’ll look into the kernel streaming code again!
Best,
///LeifNovember 2, 2009 at 5:07 pm #4941Maniak2000MemberHello. Another bug I found "Bypass" is randomly enabling itself. Can’t pinpoint the cause because it doesn’t happen often, but I know I am not enabling it. Last time it happened when I was playing the game, at the time output was set to sound card (KS interface). This bug wasn’t present in earlier version.
Update: It may be a coincedence but it seems that "bypass" is enabling itself right before little window pops up asking to buy BAE……….So maybe it’s not a bug?
November 2, 2009 at 9:54 pm #4942timmywaParticipantManiak, are you registered?
November 2, 2009 at 10:09 pm #4943Maniak2000MemberNot till I find my reg key…..again……))
Oh well I already figured out it’s not a bug it’s (probably) trial limitation.
November 3, 2009 at 4:25 am #4944LeifKeymasterManiak, this is the extended trial mode. After the 30-day trial, it will run in this mode indefinitely, until uninstalled or registered. 🙂

November 3, 2009 at 8:10 am #4945LeifKeymasterManiak, could you try if 1.20.22 works better with your USB headset?
http://bredband.leif.cx/browse/bae
If it still doesn’t work, please check the number of channels. When you set up through the wizard, the wizard will first try to open 8 channels, then 6, then 4, and lastly 2 (stereo). In expert mode, however, you have to set the number of channels yourself.
Thus, if you run the wizard with on-board HD audio, and then change to a stereo USB headset using the expert mode, leaving it on 8 channels (for example), it will fail to open the headset.

///Leif[/quote]Leif, what changes from .21 to .22? Could you provide a changelog as we go along, please? I know at the top of this post you mentioned Windows 7 and waveRT capabilities, but was there more?
Also, adding the NR switch to each preset or the the entire engine as it is in Live is still a request I have.
Thanks, as always, you’re incredible!

November 3, 2009 at 8:35 pm #4947Maniak2000MemberHello. Version 1.20.22 works fine with USB headset……so is 1.20.21. Let me explain…..
After installing 1.20.21 I selected my audio card as output device (via wizard) so it worked fine….. What I didn’t noticed (untill you mentioned it in earlier post) is that BAE set Channels to 8 (must be max supported by sound card), so when I tried to swich output to USB headset (via expert or wizard) it was trying to do so with 8 channels, and it seems my headset supports only 2…..thus the "bug error". After installing 1.20.22 I selected output device as Headset and it set channels automaticaly to 2….thus Headset and Sound card works fine with channels set to 2….
So I guess that bug is fake….sorry about that.
November 4, 2009 at 12:13 am #4948LeifKeymasterNo problem. It’s not the most user-friendly way to do things — perhaps I should include the audio format in the error message, to make it easier to spot.

November 4, 2009 at 7:33 am #4949LeifKeymasterGood ideas, Tim!
1.20.21 -> 1.20.22:
Changed the way kernel streaming devices are opened (WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE vs WAVEFORMATEX) in response to Maniak’s USB problem. May change it back since it wasn’t the problem.
1.20.22 -> 1.20.23:
Noise reduction switch added (in the right-click menu)
FM mode indicator added (oscilloscope overlay)
The oscilloscope text overlay code is brand new. May use it to indicate other things in future versions.
Kernel streaming failed-to-open error message much improved.
Output meter issue (dithering noise visible at the bottom) fixed.http://bredband.leif.cx/browse/bae

November 4, 2009 at 12:14 pm #4950timmywaParticipantAWESOME!
Thanks for the detail!
Are you recommending us to uninstall/reinstall on these builds or just over the top?
Also are you using a newer or same VAC? And can you please remove the skinned mouse cursor deal or make it an option? when I VNC to that system, the mouse gets all messy looking.
Thanks again!
