There’s no limitations, only an advertisement to purchase plays every hour or so.
timmywaParticipantThanks, Icy! I will have to piece together another system to test with it. I will do so, probably after the holidays.
Can you describe what is slimmed down?
Thanks.
timmywaParticipantA Candlelight Vigil has been organized and will take place in Washington State this coming Sunday at 7pm PST. For those who are nearby, they are invited to attend. For the rest of the world-at-large, the Cox family is requesting we take a moment of silent prayer at that same time (in your local timezone, if possible or that day). You may also light your own candle in a personal Vigil, if you wish.
Thank you for your support.

timmywaParticipantWhy are you not using the latest version, 1.30.00?

just sayin’
timmywaParticipantThis has been a great sounding preset and settings for Christmas music of differing eras and encoding qualities. I would like to open this up to others who have tried different presets/settings. If you would include both, that would be great.
Thank you!
timmywaParticipantLeif,
My specific goal isn’t CPU usage reduction or conservation. It’s more about long-term stability. The less things running, I would guess, the less things that could crash or hang.
Thanks for the help folks!
timmywaParticipantI start with some basics… Indexing Service, Wireless Zero Config, Error Reporting Service, Help and Support, Themes, and then you can consider Auto Updates and System Restore as options. There are some good sites out there that can guide you through safely setting up services to make windows slimmer. Google/Bing/Yahoo windows xp services disabled or something similar.
My main question Jesse addressed nicely is running windows without the bulky Explorer. I need to talk more about that. Once I eliminate explorer, I can set apps to autolaunch in the registry, right? Since there will be no icons and no task bar, it would be difficult, other than manually hitting windows-r.
Thanks.
timmywaParticipantEnergy,
I recommend getting back on XP. Still far more stable for audio. You’re pretty well stuck if you’re missing W7 drivers for your card. IMHO.
timmywaParticipantLeif,
So Far, So Good! I haven’t come across any issues yet. The only thing I’d mention is the Fake Sleep and Fake Hibernate options in the context menu of the tray icon. I don’t know if those are needed in a final release.
Thanks again for a masterful product! Have a fantastic trip!
-TimmytimmywaParticipantSweet! Thanks
timmywaParticipantuhh some immediate feedback. that download link fails.
timmywaParticipantI will use it on my xp and on my win7 x64 box. I’ll give you whatever feedback. Thanks for the hard work!
timmywaParticipantSounds like you had a great vacation.
Good luck this week!
timmywaParticipantThanks, Jesse! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
