I use Live but I used to have Enhancer. I forgot… in Enhancer you have to use the soundcard as well. So it should go like this:

1: Winamp/SQR Breakaway Pipeline Soundcard (what U hear) Edcast (using soundcard as input) Shoutcast DNAS.

In Live, you can entirely eliminate the soundcard. It leads to a much cleaner sound path as it is all internal and doesn’t need to be chewed up by a soundcard’s audio circuitry. Sorry for the mistake, I switched away from Enhancer a while ago.

    Good luck!

As mentioned in this forum you will run it like so (very simplified but it gives you the idea)

1: Winamp Music 2: SQR Crossfader 3: Breakaway Pipeline 1 4: Edcast (Shoutcast DNS Replacement) http://users.tpg.com.au/radiorio/ 5: Shoutcast DNAS Server 6: Listeners
Hi,

I’ve install some dsp plug-ins by the effects settings.
When i use eg. edcast must i install the same dsp plug-ins for the same effects in the encoder settings?

    Anton
Effects plugins go in the effects section and encoders go in the encoders section. The sound goes through Breakaway, then through the effects then finally through the encoder(s). That’s pretty simplified, but basically that’s it.

You can use 15us for streaming. Otherwise, it’s not necessary.

Probably not till summertime. Leif and Jesse mentioned all software will receive updates after the Omnia.9 is launched in Summer. Nothing horribly specific.

Thanks, Dr J.! I go back and forth on the bass. Sometimes it doesn’t sound like enough but then it sounds ok at another point.

I appreciate your comments though! And thanks for listening.

It is linked in my signature "America’s Country" but you can find it online at http://kxrtonline.com and http://facebook.com/KXRTRadio

I hope to hear some great advice and guidance!

I’ve made a few changes since this post:
now using Zenith with 0 final drive, 70 range, 60 power, 55 speed and +7 bass boost with 0 shape.
My effects are Attenuate 1db, phase rotator, impact/slam clunk-1 slam-2

Zenith has always been good to me, well balanced EQ-wise and great transparency!

Thanks for your interest and I will certainly take a listen to your work!

So the $199/$129/$29 question is will Undo be in the software product too??

Silly question… Does the Attenuation Plugin lower the input into the core or lower the output out to the encoder or whatever you set for outputs?

My understanding is it’s the latter but something from the way these posts are written made me wonder a bit.

Jesse suggested this order for me (I don’t use all those):

    • Atten/Gain
    • Phase Rotate
    • Impact/Clunk

I would imagine balance would go just after Atten/Gain.

Shoutcast is very similar other than the lack of requirement of a stream mount point. Just replace all icecast references with shoutcast.

    Bulk,

One comment, I don’t believe Livelink is needed when using it in your Winamp scenario. You just select Breakaway Pipeline 1 in the Output > DirectSound settings. You would also only need the DirectSound output plugin and not the Null Output one. I believe you benefit from a more direct music data transfer.

I am a BA Live user and some settings are a little different so please correct me if I’m wrong on this.

Thanks for the professional looking document!
Speaking of Edcast, encoders and the likes, I am wondering how to get the best possible mp3 @ 64k stream online. We are encoding all kinds of streams from 64k to 320k, but I have to say our mp3 64k stream is a shame! What should one do to get the best possible result at this rate? Any hope? 🙂 Thanks,

    Audio
I would submit you go mono with that low MP3. That way it’s truly 64kbps, as opposed to two 32kb/s streams combined. I’m sure there’s more to it than that and others might have better news.
so how do i get it to install in breakaways folder instead of the winamp folder? as i said i’m able to install it in winamps folder but the installer won’t let me install it in breakaways folder.
You can also fake the installer by creating a new notepad file and name it winamp.exe. Then run the installer and delete the fake winamp.exe.

The winamp one as it is a DSP plugin, not a full application.
