As far as "Undo" being a declipper, it’s far more than that… I’m not sure what I can let out of the bag yet though.
But now that the Omnia.9 cat is out of the bag… I can be free to say that Frank Foti is completely blown away by Undo. His first two responses upon hearing it were limited to one word each!! (you have no idea how rare that is, lol) It literally makes me GIDDY when I’m hearing the output, raw or through further processing, when I’m toggling the bypass button on it. It’s that huge of a leap in broadcast processing, if you play modern smashed stuff or not. Actually it’s even more of a leap forward if you play a variety of different eras and "loudness" of recordings.
Images speak more than words though sometimes… and since we don’t all yet have one of these to play with…
Most people really won’t believe it can even be done, much less done properly, until they hear it. I realize this. 😆
UNDO, okay yes, very cool! I would be very interested in hearing a quick little A/B comparison clip if you can provide one.
I’ve used SeeDeClip on a few tracks which benefitted greatly from this, but SeeDeClip doesn’t process live audio, of course.
I’ll be eagerly awaiting samples of Undo whenever available; that would be great.

All A-B comparisons that were done yesterday during the Processing Freakday were recorded; these recordings should be available for download within the next 1,5 week or so. Here’s a short (low quality) video of the Omnia.9/Breakaway comparison: http://youtu.be/v1HmdYv3Y34Other facts about the Omnia.9 that were revealed yesterday: box will run Windows XP Embedded, CPU will be an Intel i7 and the soundcard in the prototype was a Marian Trace Pro which will be replaced by a custom soundboard in the final version. Separate studio output, option for multiple inputs (for secondary/tertiary program) and build-in streaming encoder for a lot of different formats (mpeg2/3, ogg, windows media).
The remote-control software looked very impressive. It actually receives a stream of the MPX-signal, which can then be analyzed or even played at the remote end.

I bet on "no".
Same as mpx clipper.It depends on several factors that, as usual, are not technical in nature, but business. I know that Leif wanted to put at least part of Undo even in the bottom level version. No promises, but it is possible that at least some of it could make it all the way down to the ground floor.
It’s too early to bet just yet though.
The MPX clipper however probably will not be introduced in the software, even in the possible software (again, no promises) above the current top shelf BBP+ASIO.

That obviously means that Breakaway will drop to "decent"-level of processors. Money money money, must be funny, in the rich man’s world.

What’s really a shame is this disrespectful comment. Leif as the creater has the right to charge what he feels is right for his time and creativity. Breakaway is THEE BEST processor for the money…hands down. Be happy that there is such a product!
