I wasn’t aware you could run an attenuator plugin under encoders. Whats the diff between having them in encoders versus in effects?
Thanks.
timmywaParticipantI agree, the vocals and lead instruments were all very dull. I thought perhaps my receiver was misconfigured but even when I threw it to plain stereo, it still was lousy. It’s really too bad. Other content on that station, including live sports all sound crystal clear so I doubt the local affiliate or cable provider is causing this.
timmywaParticipantCheck the Power Settings in Control Panel. Choose High Performance and then go into that preset and check all the details. Be sure min and max cpu are both set to 100%, turn off any other power-saving items for USB or PCI or Sleep. MAx that puppy out! Then check in the BIOS for anything about power-saving/sleep/speedstep. Turn all that mess off as well. Start with that, then experiment with drivers, if needed.
timmywaParticipantThat is odd! My first thought is to go through your windows sound settings in control panel and just make sure all your items are balanced properly. Other than that… I’m certain someone here has more info.
timmywaParticipantJesse, how does this -23db standard reflect on your advice to use mp3gain to -85db for all my music files? Does that still correlate pretty well or should I re-gain my library at a different target level? And the -6db adjustment to the replaygain settings inside Winamp?
Thanks.

timmywaParticipantThanks guys! I just had to wrap my head around the concepts.
timmywaParticipantI like Blue Microphones. They have the Snowball which is a sub-$100 USB mic that is pretty nice, I think.
timmywaParticipantIt does something to the drum sounds. But if you use the search feature for slam or clunk, there are some pretty detailed posts/threads about it.
timmywaParticipantMy stream, due to some excellent coaching from JesseG and others, is pretty killer. Check it out: http://bit.ly/nwWL3m
Thanks.
My normal format is Country but on Sundays I do religious music. Just FYI.
timmywaParticipantI just tried the new version and it kept throwing integer between 0 and 30 errors. And the sliders for the limiters are all jacked up showing some huge numbers. And the integer errors fill my screen if I slide those sliders!
Anyone else try this and have that experience?
