I have a consument version (with L/R input):

I was suprised about the audio quality, it’s outstanding 😀 The volume is on the same level as big dutch radiostation here, like SLAM FM or Radio 538. I ordered it in Hongkong lol.

The only problem is that there are no Windows 7 drivers yet (and 64 bit is not supported at all) for the marian trace 8, the ESI Juli@ does support Windows 7 64-bit.

I just installed Windows 7 64-bit 1 or 2 weeks ago on my "live" pc, so i am going for the ESI Juli@.

I googeld on MPX, but i see that’s only usable if you have a FM transmitter with an special MPX input. So i guess i don’t use the tilt compensation thing?

Thanks Leif. It’s btw. running on a AMD system (5050E CPU), with windows server 2008. I didn’t test it on this computer yet (Intel).

Also on the AMD system the breakaway pipeline isn’t working fine, that’s why i am using Livelink. But i discussed that before here on the forum.

If you’re looking for a good dance song, with a lot in the lower frequency region: Gigi Barocco – The Rhythm (Original Mix)

Just try the regulator preset 🙂 I am using that one for my station, it’s really good for dance music 🙂

I hope BBP works fine on Windows 7 too, i thought i red somewhere it did. I am going to install Windows 7 clean on my "live" pc if the cheap student version becomes available  Maybe somebody here already did test that?

in reply to: BBP / BBP ASIO / Live 0.90.80 with Stereo Enhancer #7882

It seems that my problem was caused by a router that was giving trouble. I had the same problem again, and now it wasn’t disappearing after restarting BBP. It took me 48! hours before i did find the troublemaker. For some reason the upload was very very slow. And since i have 3 routers connect down the line it was hard to find out the exact problem.

I first thought it was caused by the ISP, because they had a nation wide problem at the same day i had problems. I had to give the router a hard reset before the problem was solved, a soft one was not enough.

Anyway the problem is solved, i think the 2 times before were caused by the router too. So forget it Leif 😉

I learned another thing. If the upload isn’t running smooth in edcast when using livelink in BBP, also the speaker output from SAM is shitty. I don’t know why that is, but it is a fact.

in reply to: BBP / BBP ASIO / Live 0.90.80 with Stereo Enhancer #7879

I had a problem myself too… suddenly BBP and Edcast were not uploading the sound to the shoutcast server smoothly, it was giving drops in the stream, and that was causing glitches and drops on the listeners end.

Also on the air output of SAM it was giving those hickless and glitches (using livelink).

I just closed and restarted BBP (with the edcast plug-in which is in BBP) and it was running smooth again.

Very very strange, i hope this don’t happen again. I didn’t look if BBP was taking a lot of CPU power, but i suppose not. If it happens again i will check that too.

in reply to: Can’t type in the Edcast Window Plug-in #8221

Ok  I still have to try it hahaha, i am a little busy lately so… lol. And my station did start on 1 september, so now i can’t suddenly make changes so easily, because i don’t want to interrupt the station.

Maybe in the weekend i can change it, together with the memory modules. I ordered new ones, because these are giving me some blue screens so now and then.

Memtest says there are both good, but i had some problems in this machine with them too. Switched them with the server, and now i have the problems there. So i am almost sure the memory modules are the guilty ones.

I turn on this pc on as backup, i make an exact copy of the settings, music and everything so listeners don’t notice the difference (and switch). Then i can do some server maintenance.

I don’t want to put a link on the forum here, because i don’t want foreign listeners. And no, i am not discriminating lol. But it costs more money if foreign people listen. If you want to hear and see it, i can give you a link with in a pm Leif.

in reply to: Can’t type in the Edcast Window Plug-in #8219

Thanks Leif! I will give it a try. Don’t you have to execute the dsphost.exe?

in reply to: Can’t type in the Edcast Window Plug-in #8216
After re-reading your post, I noticed that it wasn’t that it didn’t come up, but that you couldn’t type into it. Actually… you’re totally right. Now that is odd. (pun intended)

    Leif, I’m confirming this bug.
Haha yeah! Edcast is working fine, except that i can’t change the configuration settings in the window because i can’t type in it.

Another broadcaster i spoke has the same problem. He tells me he has it since the last update of BBP (v.0.90.80). I also have this problem on both pc’s, so it really looks like a bug.

Of course you can always edit this file manually: dsp_edcast_v3_1.cfg. The 1 can be a 2 or 3 too, depending on how much encoders you are using. But it’s a bit odd (oddsock 😆).

in reply to: NEW: Breakaway Broadcast Processor ASIO 0.90.79 #7622

Ok… so the latency of the air output is also less as with the "normal" BBP? That comes in handy 🙂

in reply to: NEW: Breakaway Broadcast Processor ASIO 0.90.79 #7620

CPU power is no problem on this PC, i also use it for web streaming so…

But i want to buy the soundcard anyway, because this one is giving a little noise when i turn it louder. But hey!, it’s an onboard soundcard 😆 And if i buy one, it’s going to be an ASIO card.

So then i could use BBP ASIO. However, BBP ASIO is the most expensive one. So then is the question: what’s in it for me?

Is the low latency of the studio output worse then the air output Leif? And is it better to use BBP or BBP ASIO then in front of the encoder for live broadcastings? (if i have an ASIO card).

in reply to: NEW: Breakaway Broadcast Processor ASIO 0.90.79 #7616

Leif, i have a question. Why is BBP Live still existing if you can use BBP ASIO? What are the differences between those two?

And the studio output of BBP ASIO is from less quality as the air output i guess? Because with a live show the sound of BBP goes into the mixer, and from there it goes into the encoder. So the microphone connected to the mixer has no compressing / limiting.

Another setup would be to put BBP in front of the encoder, the same as with the nonstop server. But Breakaway Broadcaster isn’t very good in handling the voice, i tried that before. So for that i need BBP Live or ASIO.

    🙄 lol

in reply to: Suspense killing me! What was the surprise at the meetdag? #6990

Ok, that clears some stuff up! I was forgotten i wrote something in this topic hahaha.

I maybe have plans to buy BBP ASIO and a ESI @july soundcard, both for my "live pc". But that is for next year i suppose, first want to save some money again.
