October 13, 2009 at 2:15 pm #8552BokiMemberMarian Trace 8 is better because it has no Tilt.
Juli@ is good too ..
..but price between this two cards is big!October 13, 2009 at 2:58 pm #8553AnonymousGuestYes, that’s why I am going for the ESI juli@… because of the price/quality difference between those cards.
October 14, 2009 at 3:29 am #8554LeifKeymasterThe Trace 8 has DC straight outputs (=no tilt), but not just that — it also has 8 channels, not just 2! If you count the price per channel, the Trace 8 is a bargain.
You can use the extra channels with BBP ASIO to get stereo low latency studio outputs.

November 7, 2009 at 3:30 pm #8555cyberneticorganismMemberThe only problem is that there are no Windows 7 drivers yet (and 64 bit is not supported at all) for the marian trace 8, the ESI Juli@ does support Windows 7 64-bit.
I just installed Windows 7 64-bit 1 or 2 weeks ago on my "live" pc, so i am going for the ESI Juli@.
I googeld on MPX, but i see that’s only usable if you have a FM transmitter with an special MPX input. So i guess i don’t use the tilt compensation thing?
November 7, 2009 at 3:36 pm #8556LeifKeymasterMPX input is not special, MPX input is standard for professional transmitters. Only consumer grade transmitters have L/R input as the only input.
However, if you’re not broadcasting on FM, indeed it doesn’t matter at all 🙂.

November 7, 2009 at 3:51 pm #8557cyberneticorganismMemberI have a consument version (with L/R input):
I was suprised about the audio quality, it’s outstanding 😀 The volume is on the same level as big dutch radiostation here, like SLAM FM or Radio 538. I ordered it in Hongkong lol.
November 7, 2009 at 8:31 pm #8558yorkie98ParticipantIf you are even a little competant with electronics, you should easily be able to bypass the L/R input section and built in stereo encoder and convert this to an mpx in. If you could post pics of the circuit boards I could most likely tell you where to connect mpx input which will give you 10x better quality than the build in coder. The beauty of breakaway is the stereo encoder and clipping which you don’t get if you use the L/R inputs of your transmitter, also theres virtually no way to run RDS.
November 8, 2009 at 1:32 am #8559LeifKeymasterCyborg, with that transmitter, you could actually use Breakaway Personal.
Breakaway Personal now has a low latency FM processor, so if you’re only playing music from your computer, you could actually get by with that one. 🙂

Do you have a weblink for this transmitter?

Well, i am streaming with one nonstop pc, both the FM transmitter and the internet stream with the same BBP version. What do you mean with "personal"? I only know BBP broadcaster, live and ASIO.
I also bought myself the Juli@ in the meantime, for my live PC. I still have to try BBP ASIO on it 🙂
Yorkie98: So with an MPX output you can also send RDS? I thought you needed a FM transmitter that is supporting RDS for that. Why can’t you use the BBP stereo encoder and clipper when using L/R input of the FM transmitter?
November 14, 2009 at 1:20 am #8563LeifKeymasterCyborg, by "Breakaway Personal" I meant "Breakaway Audio Enhancer" — the version that started it all, and is still just $30.
Since it’s a consumer product designed for listening and not broadcasting, it has a few limitations, for example audio can only come from Breakaway Pipeline 1 (not a sound card), and audio can only go to a sound card (not a virtual cable). It also does not have phase linear mode, no final drive control, no plug-in support. On the other hand, it’s the same great sounding Breakaway multiband processing as in the pro products, it’s light-weight, easy to use, and extremely inexpensive!
In fact, on my single core atom netbook, it uses only 15% with the Reference Low CPU preset, and 30% with FM mode with a normal preset. That’s low enough that the netbook can still play movies smoothly while doing the processing and feeding a pocket transmitter.
I don’t know about you, but I sure can’t live without it! 🙂

November 14, 2009 at 2:26 pm #8564cyberneticorganismMemberThat’s nice… but i don’t know if that’s working together on the same PC with Breakaway Broadcaster. I only use the FM transmitter for a bit of playing (and to wake up with my own radiostation on my clock radio in the morning ). It’s only 0,5 watt so no big broadcasts.
I still have to buy BBP ASIO for this PC, the only doubt is the price 🙂 I am going to use this PC for live shows (with the build in Juli@).
