Alright guys, just got back from the NAB show in Las Vegas and look who I saw? The man himself Mr Leif. Yes, he is still alive people. We chatted for a bit and popped the BIG question….Will there be any future updates for the Breakaway products? Sadly his answers were the same. Says, he's very busy with other projects & just does not have the time for now….But, did mention he needed a vacation & would consider working on it after his break. So, who knows..??
Also got a chance to check out the stereo tool booth with Hans, great guy.
Djtek184MemberI had a similar problem.
On windows:
Goto control panel, look for hardware & sound & click playback tab..
Uncheck your default breakaway pipeline by choosing another line..then click back to your original pipeline again. This helps me get rid of noise, loops & such. Don't know if it will work for others though..Djtek184MemberLove that Radio Planet signature sound. Any suggestions on how to emulate it using bbp or blive would be awesome ::)
Djtek184MemberRecently talk to JesseG in PM & here's what he had to say about the new BBP- quote by jeeseG "But with the next generation Breakaway stuff, there will be a lot more variance between the sound of the presets in the products. For instance, especially so with the Home Theater version. But even the broadcast versions will have several presets that are much more relaxed and open."

Djtek184MemberDjtek184MemberHere are some infos I've found that may help: Distortion
Clipping is the most commonly heard kind of distortion (clipping distortion) and is very objectionable on voice and other monotonic (one tone or sound at a time) sounds. A similar amount of clipping distortion applied to some kinds of music is not quite as audible but is still a problem. Even amounts that are not explicitly noticeable to a given listener will still lead to greater listener fatigue. They may not know why they don't want to listen any more but it happens nevertheless.
Individuals vary in their ability to hear distortion (or at least to identify what they're hearing). I'm often surprised when others claim not to be able to hear the problem that I'm finding so objectionable I need to turn the radio off! http://www.prometheusradio.org/audio_processing_and_compressors
FM Station – Smooth Listening (Favorite FM ) This is the newest preset for long time listening. The high frequency part is compressed more deeply according to the FM Pre-emphasis characteristics. http://homepage2.nifty.com/toshi-software/help/fabulousmp3/help_e/preset.html
Djtek184MemberUnfortunately there are no such converter, but Total Recorder is probably the next best thing. Took me about 4 days to record about 1500 mp3s. All tracks will be split and tag accordingly. I use Winamp as the player and total recorder as the recorder.
Djtek184MemberYeah, your probably right. Did sound interesting though.
Djtek184MemberWow, I think you hit it on the nail. Thank u Boki, really appreciated the help 😀
Djtek184MemberThanks Boki, I'll give it a try.
Djtek184MemberHere's a higher quality live stream: 98.5 kluc http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/klucfmaac.pls
Djtek184MemberThe 'CHR'preset, 75us, 15 kHz low pass and some slight tweaking help a bit. But still not quite right.
Djtek184MemberLink to their live stream. Sorry low quality 🙁 http://betaplayer.radio.com/player/985-kluc
