This is the master on/off switch for the effect plug-in subsystem. When enabled, you may select what plug-ins (up to 9) to load on the Settings page.

So you have to enable one/both of those that you wish to use, and then you'll see the additional buttons in the settings.

You should have the pilot level at ~8% in BBP, and you should be using the "MPX Output" I'm assuming both.  Have you tried including or not including the pilot with the RDS coming from Airomate?

I would try to do it with SAM and pushing the titles directly to shoutcast, assuming you're not using icecast.  But I think both support pushing titles directly to the server.  For instance with shoutcast, it's:
http://IP:PORT/admin.cgi?pass=PASSWORD&mode=updinfo&song=SONG_TITLE

The rest of making that happen should be a support issue for SAM users, which we do have a few here.  That should get you started in the right direction though.  Have you checked the SAM forums as well?

"Stereo (L/-R)" is simply flipping the polarity of the right channel. "Mono (L+R)" and "Mono (L-R)" are showing how the two input channels are combined into one, via sum or difference.

You would need some software to grab the input from your mic/line input that's being sent out to Skype, and the output from Skype, and mix it into a Breakaway Pipeline virtual soundcard.  Then you would set that Pipeline as the input to Breakaway Live.

If you didn't want to stream your input into Skype, then you could simply set the output of SKype to a Pipeline, and set the input of Breakaway Live to that Pipeline.  But I'm guessing you'll want to get mixing software to add your end as well.

While using the Breakaway pipeline as the output, I'm hearing a warbling or rapid "wup, wup, wup, wup" type sound in the audio which is otherwise fine, which I'm not hearing when I use the audio card (Digigram) as the output.  I've tried numerous things to solve this, but haven't had any success.  Anyone know of a simple cause/solution?  I have tried changing the sample rate, buffer size, buffer count, etc. with now success.  I have also tried using PCM and DS instead of KS.  This is a Dell Optiplex system running Windows XP Pro with a 2.33 ghz Intel core 2 duo, 2 gb of ram.

What is connected to the other end of the pipeline, and are you able to change the settings on that as well?

There is an FAQ section for "Audio Enhancer"
http://claessonedwards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=1044
and you might find some useful information in the documentation for "Broadcast"
http://claessonedwards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=40&Itemid=1037

There is also a topic somewhere in the BAE (Breakaway Audio Enhancer) forum (i think) where Leif describes how to use the FM related features in BAE.

Nevermind, I found it for you.  3rd result in this forums search engine. 🙂 http://www.forumclaessonedwards.com/forum/index.php/topic,754.msg5159.html

The config doesn't have a bypass, nor a manage anything within it.  Are you sure you're looking at Expert Mode of the config? It's a button on the bottom-left of the Wizard version of the config.

That being said, you should make your computer's default soundcard one of the "Breakaway Pipeline" soundcards, reboot the computer to make sure that nothing set to use the default soundcard is still using it.  Then you can try setting the soundcard, and optimizing latency, in Expert Mode config.  I highly recommend "KS" Kernel Streaming to access the soundcards, as you'll be able to get lower latency and ~guarantee a 1:1 bit accurate output from Breakaway's (multi-phasic adaptive) SRC (or you could use it without SRC, but I can't recommend that, even though I don't use it myself).

For some settings on a large-scale system…
preset: Reference Movies
range: 25 (higher if your input is less than -18 LKFS)
power: 100
speed: 15

Try Reference Jazz if it's still too processed sounding. 🙂 I used to "run" a 180kwatt Turbosound setup, so I recognize that even with these settings, it can potentially effect impact.  REAL punch 😉 not the complete opposite that most people call "punch" these days.  But those settings should be pretty bangin'.

Please send pics of Breakaway @ your FoH with a sightline in the background some time. 🙂

I'm guessing you're talking about the link from this page;
http://claessonedwards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66&Itemid=86
Yes it's one of the files that are down right now.  I'm going to get access to the website via FTP this week and get all of the downloads relinked properly.  I'll post a new topic once I get them all back up.

BAE doesn't keep track of changes between presets like the other products do.  It never has.  Plus… those are just the front-end meta-controls, and those only drive algorithms that effect a few (among hundreds of) settings in the actual presets.  All of the presets are built into all Breakaway products, within the EXE file, so they cannot be removed or lost; and you already said "every preset" so I'm guessing all of the presets are still there and can be loaded.  You're just confusing the functionality of BAE with the other products, when it comes to the front-end meta-controls.

You'll have to wait for the next Breakaway products to come out.  It's been a while coming, but for the most part the current products do work great, and are ~bullet proof.  There are more concerns on today's modern systems, than when the current public Breakaway was created, and this is one of them. 🙂

The settings in breakaway for the card say you can do 192 right?  When you press "Test" button in Breakaway, in Kernel Streaming (KS) mode, does it have success or does it fail?

Are you trying to process the sound coming from Teamspeak, or trying to process your microphone before it gets sent to teamspeak?
I am also using broadcast as live is really quiet I find
The presets in the upcoming Breakaway products are going to be decently more quiet for the FM/AM versions, since they can always be doubled in loudness by increasing drive.  The presets for Live, DJ, Basic (formerly known as Audio Enhancer), and Home Theater, will all have much less signal levels into the final limiters as a default.

If one (like me) hates peak control, the closest they can get now with the current presets is:
preset: Reference (take your pick/preference)
range: 25
power: 100
speed: 15

and to use Reference Jazz if it sounds too processed for your needs.  use Reference Settings if it doesn't sound processed enough; but if you hate peak limiting, you probably won't like the increase in sounding processed either.  If there isn't enough AGC happening, increase the range slowly till it settles at the top when your (hopefully) loudness normalized sources are at their average relaxed yet loud parts.  Be careful not to have too much range in the Multiband, or it can sound un-natural, and create an increased risk of not handling bursts.

Some of the presets for the upcoming Breakaway products are very transparent, even in comparison with the above settings.  🙂

Even just the output of Breakaway should beat the Aphex by allowing you to get a decent amount of increased loudness on average, without overmodulating.

The stream sounds decent.  Does your automation support loudness normalization metadata like ReplayGain?  I would consider doing loudness normalization on your library and ingest process, so that everything is -24 LKFS.

http://tech.ebu.ch/loudness
http://www.itu.int/rec/R-REC-BS.1770

http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=ReplayGain_2.0_specification
http://www.foobar2000.org/ (fast ReplayGain2 scanner)
http://r128gain.sourceforge.net/ (supports ReplayGain2, lots of options)

I would consider something that at least crossfades at a very low level (intelligently ofc), to remove the big pauses of near silence that can sometimes happen, without simply chopping off the sound.

Cheers 🙂
