Can’t wait to hear Passive Aggressor on it. 🙂
Me too. 🙁
But honestly spoken, I believe that before we (ordinary users) hear Passive Aggressor in a Breakaway release the following things have to happen before:
1. A Yeti that rings my doorbell.
2. A Bigfoot becomes the republican (! – though this might be an intellectual progress in comparison to George W. Bush) candidate for president of the United States.
3. A bunch of dozen vivid tasmanian tigers will appear in the Royal Park Golf Club in Melbourne (!).
4. The RMS Titanic (radio Callsign "MGY", UK Official Number: 131428) will pass the Statue of Liberty.Live could be so easy with Passive Aggressor
(Leif, it could be so easy with Passive Aggressor) !
I fear that after all these (wonderfull !) betas, Leif wants to release something that is stable for ages (up to Windows 9).
I hope my grandchildren will be still alive the day when Passive Aggressor arrives. But, seriously:
Thank you Leif
and thank you Jesse
for all your work !
When Jesse teased us a few months ago with some Passive Aggressor samples, it seemed as if it would only be a question of a few days (or one, two, three weeks in worst case scenario).
So, no doubt the next release will be a real blockbuster.
Sorry, I am (others maybe too) just like a child that cannot wait until it is Christmas (but this statement is not meant as a free ticket to December 24 or 25 for the next release). 🙂michi95Member
The Input Level sometimes change its color. Why?
This indicates levels above 0 dB including intersample peaks.
If the color is red than the source is clipping (many CDs are mastered in this way).If you use additional effect plug-ins (-> settings and I/O configuration) and the color is pink, than this distortion is caused by one of the DSP effects (pre Breakaway processing).
michi95Member
Sorry, but I prefer it the way it is. For the very seldom times I need to look at the toolbar, I want it to give me all the information I need at that point in time.
I do agree.
@ stfn
But you could disable this whole Breakaway toolbar thing and use the freeware alternative Volumouse to adjust the volume.
➡ read this:

(right bottom – it only appears while you adjust the volume !)July 14, 2010 at 12:02 am in reply to: Audio stuttering using Breakaway Live with Station Playlist #11068michi95Member
if I am not using a sound card at all, should SRC be checked?
When you move the mouse pointer over SRC button in the I/0 configuration, the popup tooltip says:
"Adaptive Sample Rate Conversion
If both the input and output are on the
same sound card, disable this option."michi95Member
….and one pipeline. Just connect it.
Sorry, Boki but your answer is misleading, because you need two pipelines !
Step by step:
Shutdown Breakaway Live ! (important)
Go inside your Breakaway Live program folder and run "BaPipelineConfig.exe".
In the left corner on top you have to set "Cables" to 2 (press "Set") !
Exit BaPipelineConfig !
Start Breakaway Live.
In the I/O configuration select "Breakaway Pipeline 1" as input.
And as output "Breakaway Pipeline 2" !Then inside your audio recording software select "Breakaway Pipeline 2" as recording input !
Realtime recording is the only way to do it.
It is not possible to do batch file processing like with other Winamp DSPs and Winamp’s filewriter output plugin, because Breakaway Live works as a system wide audio driver and not as a plugin.
Many have asked for a batch file option, but this would be another product with another (much higher) price.michi95Member
Where can i get a vuvuzela in melbourne?
I will tell you, but first you have to tell me where in Tasmania I can get a thylacine alive !
Good luck !
michi95Member
Now, I am hopeful that ‘Passive Aggressor’ may help since it is a more ‘open’ preset, but in the mean time, does anyone have any ideas or preset settings that can help?
Have you the OB preset option enabled (introduced in version 0.90.95) ?
Obsolete (previously deleted) presets can now be accessed. Edit the INI file, and in the [Master] section add ObsoletePresets=1
Try this one:
OB Moon&Spoon (I call it "Active Defender" 😆 )
Final Drive: + 2.0 dB
Range: 20 (or 10)
Power: 73
Speed: 30
Bass Cut: -20
Shape: + 50
Roll-off: 15 ( or 20)The usage of Roll-off is very important, because without you have an high frequency overkill !
For me this tweaked OB Moon&Spoon is the best alternative while we are waiting for the next release with Passive Aggressor.
We have counted the days.
We have counted the weeks.
Now we are counting the months.
I hope that we won’t have to count the years ?michi95Member
volume (it’s currently set to -84db, very quiet by anyone’s standards).
😆
Very quiet ?
Indeed very, very, very, unbelievable quiet !!!
In theory at -90dB the volume is considered to be mute.
In practice -84dB is already mute.@ All
Open your eyes !
@ ndo5085
➡ Turn the volume carefully (!) up !
In test mode this main window volume setting is ignored. The I/O setup uses its own volume slider (-12dB default).Case closed !
michi95Member@ ndo5085
Do you use version 1.30.2 ?
Important:
Please do a screenshot of your Breakaway Enhancer main window (with oscilloscope activity) !Have you installed any additional Breakaway Live, Broadcast, etc. trial version ?
michi95Member
I’ve already notified him of this, but I think he’s sleeping or something.
Probably already in prison ? 😈 😆
I hope that we have not to wait 25 years until the next Breakaway beta release will come out !?
Is that an actual Flux Capacitor???? WOW!!!!!
Do you think that Leif Claesson and Doc. Emmet Brown are one and the same person ?
That would explain Leif’s inactivity here from Fri Apr 30 to Tue Jun 22.
Doc. Leif were in the future to learn from his own Breakaway Live 7.3 version, that was released in May 2017 !michi95Member
I made one 3 days ago that automatically continues despite the 30 minute "limit"
😥 Jesse, you are a bad boy.
I really hope that your special friend won’t read this confession.I am sure that Leif would never ever do such a criminal act. 😆
But I tell you a secret:
I don’t care about this 30 minutes limit, because I have convinced FIFA-Godfather Sepp Blatter, that starting with last 16 round all games will be paused every 30 minutes (3×30=90 minutes). 8)
First he refused to do it.
But then I have explained to him how much more money the FIFA (Sepp Blatter in person) could earn with this little change to the rules of the game. But seriously:
Ok, it’s better than simple EQ notch filtering, when you compare it.
But I doubt that for this purpose of unvuvuzelaing such a rough, complex but somehow chaotic audio source, 99 % of (ordinary) listeners will hear any difference switching from one method to the other.
The four notch filters remove the vuvuzela noise very good.
And the additional unwanted frequency removal is very small (not technically, but for the human ear).So even if Sepp Blatter will break his word (3×30), I would not try to crack this 30 limit (the truth is: even if I wanted it, my programming skills are too limited).
But:
I have noticed that Leif has used some Octimax code for this ! 8)The terms "unvuvuzelaing" and "to unvuvuzela" are my private property and protected by international copyright laws.
Everyone that wants to use these, has to buy a 50,000 $ licence from me.
My conversation with Sepp Blatter was very inspiring for both of us !michi95Member
Anyone know if we can bind breakaway options to a keyboard shortcut?
Not yet.

Try this free tool:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/volumouse.html
I use this (but I don’t know if it works while gaming ?) with "Master Volume" as component !
Important: Do not select Breakaway Pipeline as mixer device (won’t work). You have to select your soundcard !
(for me it is: Realtek HD Audio output).Or try this free 2006 Edition of ZVolume:
http://www.zvolume.com/Important: there is still an older commercial version from 2003 called ZVolume Pro 3.44 – but I cannot see that this has any advantage over this free 2006 edition.
I think this the same as with thousands of so called software companies, that sell outdated software to inexperienced computer users with a lack of knowledge, that there are better freeware alternatives
(for example MP3 tools, Audio/Video players, etc.).michi95Member
why do we want a filter for a vuvuzela ??
➡ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sour … =&gs_rfai=
michi95Member
i don’t actually have much time to have fun playing around with the end-user GUI controls, as per my main use of Breakaway is…
Breakaway Audio Enhancer, for my on-board card’s 192kHz SPDIF output to my source selector & speaker/headphone DAC… mainly for system sound, websites, and movies. 🙂
Breakaway Live, for my main high quality outputs to my source selector etc… for all music listening and mastering. The only thing I’m using in Live is the parameter EQ for pre-correction of the several output sources I can select. All other processing is bypassed, so it’s probably overkill….
😕 ❓ ➡ I will go back to school to rub up on my English.
I understand the words, but I cannot understand what Jesse wanted to tell us (me) !
Maybe my brain is damaged by Vuvuzela !?➡ (@ Leif, whenever he returns to this forum ?) Let an update speak for itself !
michi95MemberAs I said, I had only a few minutes yesterday at the end of the game Portugal vs. Ivory Coast.
So this V1 was a free hand creation. Here is V2 (based on frequency information I have found on the web):
quote :
So this V2 won’t change the sound characteristic as much as V1.
It only removes Vuvuzela (except I have added some subtle enhancement to compensate the Vuvuzela frequency removal). -
