It’s always relative to the other stations that are on the dial around you….but I gotta say…Eruption may be the finest preset yet, for my market/city!!! I’m running it with speed and power throttled back a bit and the final drive throttled up…sounds pretty unbelievable. Nice job on the setting. When do we get to experience passive aggressor first hand?
August 3, 2010 at 8:40 pm #11201GuillouMemberWhich are your preset ?

Soon, but it’s nothing like Eruption. It’s actually less processed sounding & more open than Reference (!!) on the micro-dynamics… but it has a very solid macro-dynamics that’s more ideal for broadcasting than Reference or Zenith. Dunno if that gives you an idea of what to expect. One thing is for sure though, it seems to be even more enjoyable & relaxing for long-term listening than anything else so far.
It’ll be coming out whenever the next generation of the existing Breakaway products comes out. 8) There’s some awesome changes coming, but the cat is happy in the bag for now.

Sounds like it might work well for my station. I’ve been pleased with Reference Classical for the same reason. Clean, good dynamic control and no ear fatigue for long-term listening.August 4, 2010 at 8:25 pm #11204Q106MemberDave,your stream sounds very good.Format is great.Very enjoyable.
rayAugust 4, 2010 at 9:46 pm #11205JesseGMemberYeah nice station Dave. Can’t wait to hear Passive Aggressor on it. 🙂 There is some kind of slight audio skip thing going on, like a split second of silence every now and then.

But honestly spoken, I believe that before we (ordinary users) hear Passive Aggressor in a Breakaway release the following things have to happen before:
1. A Yeti that rings my doorbell.
2. A Bigfoot becomes the republican (! – though this might be an intellectual progress in comparison to George W. Bush) candidate for president of the United States.
3. A bunch of dozen vivid tasmanian tigers will appear in the Royal Park Golf Club in Melbourne (!).
4. The RMS Titanic (radio Callsign "MGY", UK Official Number: 131428) will pass the Statue of Liberty.Live could be so easy with Passive Aggressor
(Leif, it could be so easy with Passive Aggressor) !
I fear that after all these (wonderfull !) betas, Leif wants to release something that is stable for ages (up to Windows 9).
I hope my grandchildren will be still alive the day when Passive Aggressor arrives. But, seriously:
Thank you Leif
and thank you Jesse
for all your work !
When Jesse teased us a few months ago with some Passive Aggressor samples, it seemed as if it would only be a question of a few days (or one, two, three weeks in worst case scenario).
So, no doubt the next release will be a real blockbuster.
Sorry, I am (others maybe too) just like a child that cannot wait until it is Christmas (but this statement is not meant as a free ticket to December 24 or 25 for the next release). 🙂August 5, 2010 at 12:47 am #11207JesseGMember
So, no doubt the next release will be a real blockbuster.
Affirmative. 8)
And p.s. when I teased, I didn’t know that such a drastic change would build up in the pipeline, but when it releases, it’ll be worth it. Way more than just waiting for 2-3 presets, especially with the new products, and more "free-time" for Leif. (and hopefully some real free-time too)

Wow… that’s exciting! More teasing? 🙂 So that’s what has kept Leif so busy lately! 💡
Seriously when can we expect these new products? Are we talking new features or brand new members to the Breakaway family? Say full control? 😉 Hopefully there will be an software version including full control and not just in the hardware box version.
Cheers and thanks for such a great product!

August 5, 2010 at 6:20 pm #11209sgeirkMemberBecause an earlier poster wanted to know.
I’m using Jesse’s Stereo Challenger suggested settings. It’s still a work in progress. It’s a little "busy" sounding for my taste…but man does it pop. I like the midrange boost compared to Plutonium.

Which stream? I’ve heard it on my "built-in" flash player on my listen page.August 6, 2010 at 10:27 am #11211JesseGMember
Which stream? I’ve heard it on my "built-in" flash player on my listen page.
The 48kbps aac, and going by the sound of the little blip of silence, i would think it’s on all the streams if they are all sourced at the same point.August 6, 2010 at 5:57 pm #11212jameskuzmanMemberquote :Are we talking new features or brand new members to the Breakaway family? It’ll only come with the hardware box and will require the totally custom audio card (part of the copy protection) that’s in it in order to be useful. So I guess it’s only half of what you really wanted. But I will say that it has usability features that FAR surpass anything that anyone has done with a processor up to this point, that are integral to Leif’s new software platform which is designed from the ground up for very rapid development of new products… If there is ever a hardware box that you have wanted most since the 8100A1 (and maybe XT2), then Leif’s box will become that box.I can’t wait to start on the mastering box too. The possibilities the framework opens up are totally cool for that market, and I can’t wait to hear the first wax cut directly from the clipper running in RIAA emphasis mode.
