MemberBy the way you’re using the old software/driver for your card, which is crap. Do a quick search and grab the latest, it’s much better!
Don’t know why they’re still shipping new cards out with the old disc!! 👿

MemberInteresting stuff Leif, you know, I think I may have some Asrock boards laying around with the Realtek 888 chip in them, which I think is slightly newer than the one you mention so I might have a play about with those to see what I can uncover…… 😉

MemberRealtek 883 hey!
That may be worth noting for anyone building a fresh system just for BBP. 🙂

MemberDon’t forget to separate the good from the bad:
For example,
Realtek HD Audio On-board cards do work but are dirty.
The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS’s aren’t super clean either.on the other hand the:
ESI Juli@
M-Audio 192
Marian Traceare all sweet, with the Marian being super sweet…but you get what you pay for.
Not sure about any of the others. 😉

MemberOk cool, we all agree that pre-multiband EQ is ineffective then.
It’s down to Leif to decide if he wants to add the "Final Band Output Gain Adjuster" or not.
😉
Lee XS
MemberDid you even read my link?
I didn’t mention anything about pre-multiband EQ?
Lee XS
MemberI’m not sure personally about allowing for attack/release controls, that would be opening a whole can of worms.
But a final mix output would be very useful to personalize your sound.
In the meantime, I have a temporary solution to your problem, something I thought of a while back….

MemberThat’s an interesting one, I know where you’re going with this, one would usually only achieve that "unnatural Voice" sound by using a processor that has a clipper with plenty of distortion and unfortunately (for you) BBP doesn’t does this.
Not to mention, even if I made BBP sound even close to what you want, I’d dread to think what the actual songs would sound like.
My advice is, use a separate digital Mic processor if you desire "grungy" voice and let BBP do what it does best by keeping things clean.
Or even stick your mic through Breakaway Live using the Mic preset with some extra plugins before it…maybe even the Phase Tornado Plugin in there for good measure! 😆
😉 😉
Lee XS
MemberOh yes, anyone using the M-audio 192 card must make sure they have the latest driver, as the one they are still shipping in the box is very old and it will cause all sort of problems and crashes with BBP on some computers.
The new one has a new improved GUI also. 😀

MemberI know someone who is is using Edcast and it keeps forgetting the Basic Metadata for the Station I.D etc….it’s very annoying….the wording is still there, but he has to physically click into the Metadata section then back out again, then it works. 😕

Member
Whats is the best option to use AIROMATE, STEREOTOOL or PIRA RDS and if you use the PIRA option what is the best way to do it.
Thnx,
mARK
If you use PIRA external RDS you must have a scope to get it in phase and you can not do it from the supplied programming software, you have to physically do something to the circuit.

MemberHey Leif,
Have you tested one a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS on a scope by any chance? This seems to be the cheapest 192mhz card on the market???
Lee XS
MemberLeif,
Do you prefer the Juli@ sound card or the M-Audio 192?
Lee XS
MemberDamn! someone’s actually using the News/Talk preset!! 😯
I was hoping Leif would drop this to make way for some better ones. 😕
Still has no votes! 😯 🙄
Lee XS
MemberThanks Appie, glad you like. And nice one Leif, you don’t mess about.
You guys have so much choice now, some excellent presets for you to choose from.
For FM I’m liking Rustonium with a couple extra db of clipper drive at the moment….Nice! 😀
