So, I am wondering what is Leifwire? Will this replace the existing pipelines?
Audio, multi instances are absolutely possible on the Omnia.9.

The full version gives you *three* separate program inputs, with completely separate processing for FM, HD1, HD2, HD3, Streaming 1, Streaming 2, Streaming 3 and Studio output. Each of the three streaming processors has its own leifcast, with multiple encoders for each. So, you could do your main station (with separate processing for FM and web) and two separate web streams, on the same box. The Omnia.9 has a TON of processing horsepower — even with all of the above, there’s plenty of room to spare for crazy new features in the future.

Wow, can’t wait, that’s exactly what we need 🙂

Amazing! I shall be eagerly waiting on both the BBP upgrade & the Omnia 9! Both products are clearly priced right, for anyone asking for a discount I’d concentrate my efforts on the Omnia 9! 😆

Regarding the new box, it sounds like we’ll have to move our flaship station on the Omnia 9 and use BBP for the webchannels, I don’t suppose multi instances are possible on the Omnia 9?

Is the BBP release still planned for this month?

Glad to see you back on the forum Leif!

    Nice one 🙂

Can’t wait to see what the new Breakaway Broadcast looks like 😉

I also see the new box is now available, when was it released? What’s the suggested retail price? I see all kinds of price points online….

We’ve had no end of problems with Windows Server 2008… installation was no problem but we had constant blue screens and cashes. The problem was originating from the pipelines.

We’ve moved back to Windows Server 2003 and never had a problem since… Breakaway works best with 2003, XP & Windows 2000.

@ Jesse Thanks for lending an ear to this sound 🙂 . I would have to agree that their sound is heavily distorted especially on the bass side of things. I am however impressed how they managed to keep it under control. I guess I’ve grown a bit obsessed with Bass management since I heard RockRadio1 the other day and since I can’t get BassMaxx to work I’ve been trying to find other ways to emulate a deep yet controlled low end…. . I can’t wait to hear your new preset(s) and see BBP natively support VST plugins! Within BBP, and given the pumping, I too would lean towards French Kiss, though it might have too much mid range in it.

To be fair this station started with a "Dance" format and it looks like they are are simply applying the same process to all of their channels. I don’t think this works so well with rock. This sound has been working pretty well for them however, as they are now the most listened to independent webstation in France.

But to get back to the waveform… what’s the big difference with Breakaway here? Most tests I’ve attempted always lead me to "fuller" waveforms, I can’t get such a detailed waveforms. How do they do this while maintaining such high compression? Attack and release all the way up and Power down?

@ Radio Oude stijl For what it’s worth, I hear is that they are using Sound4 along with StereoMaxx. To be precise StereoMaxx is only used on their Dance channel, this stream has some kind of sofware equivalent to StereoMaxx (?).

Thanks for the detailed answer, it is very interesting to understand how you structured your chain, I shall have to look into this. It still hard to believe we are talking Motor City’s bass, that’s quite a transformation…

I have tried to use MaxxBass before but could never load it into BBP. I have tried loading it using Adaptx via DirectiXer but unfortunately DirectiXer won’t let me load Wave’s Shell VST plugin… That’s for the MaxxBass Native version 7 (or 8). Any idea what could be the trouble?

    Thanks Jesse,

I have listened to RockRadio1’s stream for the last few days, it sort of fits what I was talking about… How did you / they achieve such thunderous bass starting out of Motor City, which is fairly light on this end. Bass EFX, Bass Boost?

Did you use the 32 or 64bit version of win2008?

I use the 32 bit version, and i experienced no problems, except the RDP problem.
You’re right it was actually the 64bit version! 😳 We never tried the 32b version…

Except for the "obvious" answer to keep your sound on the host only (which you’ve tried already) it sounds like you might have to use RealVNC.

It has been my experience that BBP doesn’t work well with Win2008 Server anyway, to make a long story short the piplelines kept leading us to a blue screen after a week or so .. We switched to Win2003 and never have never had a problem since… Connecting via the standard RDP and seclecting "sound to be played on the host only" works like a charm too…. Food for thoughts 🙂

Thanks Jesse & Timmywa! I would love for us to drop this 64k stream 🙄 We are however stuck with a mobile app that has to play "no more" than 64k and in mp3 for some phones that can not read aac+ streams… thus my problem… 😯

Speaking of Edcast, encoders and the likes, I am wondering how to get the best possible mp3 @ 64k stream online. We are encoding all kinds of streams from 64k to 320k, but I have to say our mp3 64k stream is a shame! What should one do to get the best possible result at this rate? Any hope? 🙂 Thanks,

    Hi Jesse,

Thanks for fixing the link to lame.

I was wondering one thing… in one of your previous (and since delete posts) you mentioned that nothing beats 3.93.1 for contemporary music. What would you say are the major differences between 3.93.1 and 3.98.4? We are currently using 3.98.4 and I was wondering in which ways 3.93.1 would improve our sound…

    Thanks & Cheers!

I tried to check the above-mentioned links:

Download the version for Winamp, from here: http://users.tpg.com.au/radiorio/

Then, download the LAME encoder DLL: http://stashbox.org/810352/lame_enc.dll … eaming.zip

But these links are going nowhere for me, would anyone know how to get these files?

    Thanks!
