    Hi all

We just moved to a Windows Server 2008. If I do install Breakaway Live everything seems to be ok. There’s popping up a system message (UAC) who’s asking me to install your pipeline driver -> clicking "yes" – done! But by starting up Breakaway Live there are no pipelines available. The server has got no sound card, but it shouldn’t be a problem at all, isn’t it?

I tried also to deactivate the UAC and reinstall Breakaway – but with no success…
The Breakaway Pipeline driver is listed in the system devices as error (code 48 – not initialized, causing errors in windows). What can I do? Hope someone can help me…

Edit: I just tried to install Virtual Audio Cable and see what happens… Same problem here.. I’m frustrated 🙁

    Regards,
    Reto

We’ve had no end of problems with Windows Server 2008… installation was no problem but we had constant blue screens and cashes. The problem was originating from the pipelines.

We’ve moved back to Windows Server 2003 and never had a problem since… Breakaway works best with 2003, XP & Windows 2000.

    Cheers,

    Audio

    Hi Audio

    Sounds not good 🙁
Our provider only offers Windows Server 2008. I used Breakaway on Win Vista (64bit) and also Win 7 (64bit) already. There were no problems using the pipeline drivers. Windows Server 2008 structure is based on Win 7, I thought?

Maybe there’s an another product like Virtual Cable that works with Win Server 2008 and Breakaway Live? That would be a temp solution at least :/

Well, maybe this is not the case but it’s better to try: have you enabled Windows Audio -service? =)

How do you access your Windows 2008?
If it is thru RDP, then you need to look at this thread:

You do not have a soundcard thru RDP. I now use VNC instead.

It looks like we’ve found the problem. We’re using a server based on a virtual environment. The pipeline (VAC) drivers by Breakaway are not able to handle this.

Hmm, I don’t know how much does that differ from Windows 2000 in virtual environment, but it worked there just nice!

When you stream only to the internet you do not need a soundcard at all, if you use livelink.

I’ve tested this with VMWare Workstation.
