KeymasterI don’t believe that it is “normal”. I have an HD core playing to a home stereo system and simultaneously streaming 24/7 and both work. I’d go back and revise your input and output configurations. Use the test tone with audio selected from the drop-down box so that you can hear the actual output.

KeymasterThanks for the update. I urge anyone who experiences difficulties to let me know as soon as possible. I am in a different time zone (and hemisphere), but I can often get a message through when other methods fail.

KeymasterI got a message via a different forum that this was a problem. I notified Leif via a PM, and I believe that it is now resolved.
Please let me know if this is not the case as there has been some very serious illegal activities around the claessonedwards website.

KeymasterOh! That’s actually a feature of the platform that BA1 has been developed on. There are some other “sneaky” features of the GUI. Did you know that you can re-size the meters, oscilloscopes and different sections of the display separately?

KeymasterOnto it, MrK!

KeymasterI know for a fact that staff member John Edwards is working with Leif to complete a manual. Not sure of its ETA, but it is in the pipeline.

KeymasterWhat email address are you using? It should be support@claessonedwards.com or john@claessonedwards.com. You will need the MAC address from the new PC and anything that you can offer about your previous licence to make the search easier.
There has been some dramas with website piracy, but the dream is well and truly still alive.
Milky
KeymasterI am not aware of the ability, because the license is unique to each iteration.

KeymasterThe block size only has an effect if the jitter rate increases to the point that there are audible artefacts. The trick is to find the smallest block size you can and still have an acceptable jitter percentage. Jitter is effectively discarded frames because they didn’t fit the block size nominated. BA1 tries to optimise this when you select a device, but, sometimes, you can tweak the block size manually to improve latency without significantly increasing jitter, so some experimentation may be worth the time.

KeymasterGenerally, ASIO is considered the best, but it does depend on the implementation of the drivers on a per-device basis. Bad ASIO and good KS implementation for a particular device may bias the result in the opposite way, so it is best to experiment with both. I have a high spec audio device, but the ASIO implementation is very basic, so I don’t use it.
I’m not sure what the W, H R parameters are, so I’ll have to set up an ASIO session and look into it. I assume it has something to do with buffers, so I’d experiment with the number of buffers you have defined in the ASIO setup (as opposed to in the BA1 app). As always, the higher the buffer count, the greater the latency, so experiment until you get the best performance. If you are streaming, latency my not be a problem, but, if you are using ASIO for video audio, the buffer count can make a big difference with lip sync.

KeymasterThis link works https://www.claessonedwards.com/

KeymasterI am hosting my own stream, but use the free VLC app as the receiver on both smartphones when travelling and my laptop at home. No problems encountered.

KeymasterI’m pretty sure that the video uses VPN, because he advocates that for all end-to-end solutions. It IS possible to set it up using something like dyndns as a forwarding agent, but then you will need port forwarding rules in place and that may start the problem all oer again.
As I have said before, I use Team Viewer security to remotely access the BA1 computer, and then run BARemote locally once I’ve logged in.Milky
KeymasterThanks for the update. Leif is adamant that Breakaway was never intended to be exposed directly to the Internet. However, he is now aware of the issue and will address it in a subsequent release.
