He’s asking what the CPU Ghz is rated at. For example: Pentium4 @ 3.0GHz or Pentium II @ 250MHz, etc…
I wish someone here would publish a list of Windows XP services that can safely be disabled. I know there are tons of forums that tell you that you can disable 90% of them. But I also know that you can over-do the service disabling and compromise the OS’ stability. Some easy ones would be the spooler, firewall, indexing, zero config….
Anyone care to share?

I think Leif would take issue with using the $30 product in place of one he sells for 10 times that! At least he did when I suggested the same!
Leif, will this update also include a fix for Live’s interface freezing bug? Or has there been any progress on that?

Just demoing Live .79 on my p4 3ghz ht system running xp pro with 3gb ram. Creative audigy 2zs pci. When I’m just listening and tweaking with the controls, at some random intervals the meters and scope freeze and I can’t adjust controls for a few seconds. The audio continues and is being processed just fine, the interface just freezes. I’ve not had any previous BA installs, other than RTA.
I watch the cpu util % and it seems to stay normal during this pause. Is this a function of the demo limitation? What can I look at?

The company I work for is now buying Dell Servers that boot entirely from SD Card. That is incredible! They provide the OS already "burned" on the SD Card and BIOS boots from that! Forget the speed increase (that’s clear!) but look at the big drops in wear & tear and energy use! I would assume that would give plenty of room for the OS and a pretty decent amount of windows updates.
Anyone work with this kind of hardware? I’m waiting for us to get our first ones in to go check it out.
So does this run off of Breakaway? If so I’m a huge idiot! This is my work pc, nothing but winamp installed.
I had no audio playing on my system and the two top meters were running back and forth, like there was. None of the blocks were filling in. Just a black screen. Below is a cap with audio playing, the top two bars do not match/sync with what’s playing. I’ve tried KS, Wave, DirectSound. Winamp was playing in 24-bit and non-24-bit.
