I certainly do provide free updates and enhancements! Future versions of Breakaway Broadcast Processor will of course be free to everyone who has bought it.

Again one of the questions i had is answered 🙂

I understand half of the story you tell, and the other half i don’t 😆 It’s very complicated matery. But anyway, i understand that you can see with such a program if some frequency area’s are too low, and some are too high/strong. And you just use another way of calculating this. And your way is more reliable then the other?

in reply to: If you’re wondering why I’ve been quiet lately #6581

You mean you wrote these programs yourself? I don’t know what they intend for but ok 😆

in reply to: Phase Rotator PlugINs #6559

I don’t use it, because of the reasons which luke spelled. I have a lot of dance music going on, and then it sounds better without that plugin. All other plugins are in use 😉

I am actually playing a lot of dance music, club & electro… and some other stuff too. But i think it sounds better with the regulator preset, then with the dance preset. But Leif, maybe it’s better too add presets, and don’t delete too much. Cause people may use them… Or do you want to keep the program small?

Don’t delete the regulator preset please 😆 I am using that one so 😉

Leif, i just updated the manual to a new version!

in reply to: Edcast Working but not saving settings #6461

Octimax sounds not bad, and it has very low CPU usage. I used it before BBP, with the Rock preset. But Octimax gives too much high, and not enough in the middle frequency area. Also when the high and middle tones come in, they push away the bass a little (it can be vice versa too). I think that is very annoying. I also had this problem with the famous Thomas Limiter, and i couldn’t get it solved completely.

BBP don’t have that problem, and sounds way better then Octimax. But that is just my personal opinion.

Well, you can do this in 2 ways actually:

-Use a Sound Editing program, like Sony Soundforge (good compressing/limiting functionality in there), Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition.

-Use the Breakaway products in combination with a broadcastprogram (SAM Broadcaster, OTS etc.) or Winamp for example.

Be carefull if you use both options, because if you compress sound 2 times it can be overprocessed. And that means that it looses dynamics and sounds actually a bit awefull.

in reply to: Dutch Manual for Breakaway Broadcast Processor #6437

Yeah, i also say that in the manual at the end (that the newest version at time of writing is 0.90.69, and that it increases CPU performance with 30%).

I also have to make a dutch manual of the newest version, and i learned a few things the last days that also can be explained in the new manual. For example the use of the Livelink DSP plug-in, which still works without glitches and dropouts here

But making a manual takes a lot of time, i try starting with the new version this week 😉

in reply to: Hitches in the Audio #6364

It is still running smooth with Livelink and the newest BBP installed so… this looks like the right way to configure it if you can’t solve the glitches and drop-outs problem. If your read the VAC 3.12 manual you can see it is not compatible with Vista. I still do some extra testing tomorrow to be sure this setup is running smooth, if you want to hear my stream send me a pm.

in reply to: Hitches in the Audio #6362

Bad news, VAC 3.12 is not working under Windows server 2008 / Vista. When installing i got a feared Blue Screen of Death 👿

And yes i uninstalled the old Breakaway Pipeline in the Device Manager, then restarted the server again.

So i am running out of options, so i now use the latest version (trial version of 0.90.69) together with Livelink and SAM of course. So far so good. It was running a couple of hours on this pc without problems too. So i now just keep listening and hope the best out of it. I let you know if it runs smoothly now.

in reply to: Hitches in the Audio #6360

Ok… after 2 days of testing i can say a few things: I installed BBP 0.90.49 and the exact same configuration as on the server with edcast, and SAM and everything on this PC too. Still glitches and dropouts of audio.

So that means that it is not the computer or drivers that is causing the problems. I am now testing on this pc with 0.90.69 and livelink, instead of 0.90.49 with breakaway pipelines. I give you the results of that soon.

However, somebody else used 0.90.49 too with pipelines (and SAM Broadcaster too) and on his pc it was running smoothly, without problems. Also with 0.90.69 on windows server 2003 and livelink he has no problems.

The only differences is that he is running windows server 2003 on one pc, and on the other pc xp. And i am running Vista and Windows Server 2008.

in reply to: Hitches in the Audio #6358

Leif, i am actually wondering: What are you planning to do on the glitches problem on your own system? I think it’s very strange if SAM causes the problem itself, because if i use the LAME Encoder in SAM itself, there is no problem. The audio is running 100% smoothly.

It is not very easy to use winamp, because the server is running 24/7 so… my webradiostation would be offline. The only option is a driver which is messing, the server is running Windows Server 2008. So a minimal of software and stuff is installed on it, only the neccessary things. No anti-virus program is installed.

I can try the LiveLink, but can i still use Edcast en the encoder in Edcast that way? Another thing i am planning to do, is installing the exact same configuration of BreakAway Broadcast Processor on this PC, with the same SAM. If the glitches happen here to, i can conclude that it’s not computer related… but the problem is in SAM or in BBP itself (Or maybe it isn’t working fine with Windows Vista? Windows Server 2008 uses the same Kernel as Vista: NT Kernel 6.0).

And for Modman: KS seems the works the best for me, if i use Wave or the other option the glitches and drop-outs get even worse.

I also saw that there is a breakaway pipeline configuration tool, but i don’t want to mess up the settings in there. Cause i don’t know what i am doing that way. What happens if you turn the clock correction to 0% for example?
