Interesting. Have you tried disabling it while installing/running Breakaway, just to see if that's a problem?

You may also want to consider updating to the latest version of BBP, version 0.90.95
http://claessonedwards.com/download/breakaway_broadcast_setup_0.90.95.exe
just in case there was a bug fix that was addressed.

Also to anyone who may be reading this, AVG has been a thorn in many system admin sides. If you want a free anti-virus that's much faster, much better detection/heuristic rates, much lower false positives… Avast is #1 Free AV for years now.

Proof? 🙂

(note: "AVG Internet Security" is not the same thing as "AVG Antivirus Protection FREE" and they chose to not have their free version in those tests several years ago because of how bad it was testing, mmmkay)

It starts without the main window if the main window wasn't open when it was last shut down. Do you see Breakaway's icon in the system tray? Right-click on it, and go to "Find Main Window".

It could be that the Breakaway Pipeline isn't getting installed correctly. During installation, do you see a window open that asks if you want to install the driver or not?

It was up for me when you asked, and it's still up for me now. Maybe it's a peering glitch somewhere between your ISP and the site.

You said the following in the end of 2009 in regard to having problems after 48 hours.
The last I heard was that the author of VAC (Breakaway pipelines) had managed to reproduce the problem but I have not heard since of any mention of a fix being implemented. I could be wrong about this and the fix may have been implemented on an update.
Well for starters… let's see if what I posted earlier today solves the problem you're experiencing. Unfortunately it'll take 2 days, but let's try it! Please don't change any settings in your Breakaway Broadcast Processor settings (other than what I described in the post & email of course), so we'll know if this fixes the problem.

If you install the new demo for Breakaway Audio Enhancer (the consumer version) then it will update the Breakaway Pipeline for you, and the BSOD problem should be gone.

http://claessonedwards.com/download/breakaway_setup_1.40.02.exe

You should still be able to uninstall it without it removing the Breakaway Pipeline.

Doing this will also update part of the copy protection with the most recent version, which is what had caused the most problems with Windows 10 when it was first released to the general public.

All Breakaway flavors use the same protection and licensing methods so it should work exactly the same.

Leif's "Psychoacoustic Composite Embedder" with above 100% audio was available almost 10 years ago actually, in the Linear Acoustic Aeromax HDFM. It wasn't an acknowledged feature, so a pretty killer secret weapon at the time. It's still a pretty good weapon. 😉

But i think BDJ is the least used version of All Breakaway flavors.
Which is why it's not going to be updated. Sorry to be the bearer of that news. Personally I don't think it's that big a loss as it's not really ideal for any situation I've seen it used in, compared to Breakaway Live.

The latest version is on the main site…
http://www.claessonedwards.com/
click: Home Audio > Breakaway Audio Enhancer (nav)
click: Download Demo (button)
Then you'll see links to all of the demos and store links.

This is simply not true.  8)
I just moved to a computer based FM transmitter.  The signal chain is all digital.

My question was, is there any different enhancing the Broadcast Processor provides over the Audio Enhancer.
Besides there being more presets, unless your new transmitter allows "composite stereo" / MPX to be sent directly to it, OR pre-emphasized Left/Right audio directly to it, then your best bet is to stick with Breakaway Audio Enhancer since the "FM Mode" feature is better setup to pre-compensate for whatever your FM transmitter is going to do to the audio before it does its own pre-emphasis and composite stereo encoding.

Actually, you add that to the .ini file that is named the same as whatever the version of Breakaway's .exe is. So for Breakaway Live… you're looking for breakawaylive.ini

Edit the ini file, and in the [Master] section add ObsoletePresets=1
