I currently have Breakaway Audio Enhancer, I use it for our holiday display to broadcast FM out to the street for our light display.
I love it, it makes the sound so much more 'professional'.I'm upgrading to a new show computer and was looking at all my FM broadcast options.
I see Broadcast Processor and am wondering is there a fundamental difference in my use case? (show computer simply plays the audio while controlling the lights outside, I am using Audio Enhancer in the chain right now.January 25, 2016 at 12:01 am #14221dancemusicradioParticipantBy broadcast fm, i'm taking it you play a radio and feed it through enhancer. If so, then enhancer should meet your needs (all though if the station is processed all ready i'm not sure why you would want to process it again but to each their own)

today, I am using Audio Enhancer before it goes out the sound card into an FM transmitter over a small jack.
I just moved to a computer based FM transmitter. The signal chain is all digital.
My question was, is there any different enhancing the Broadcast Processor provides over the Audio Enhancer.

more presets i believe, not sure enhancer allows for the free dsp plugins that enhance the sound more also. if you are broadcasting on fm then i would suggest looking at the broadcast version. you can trial the programs anyway so do so and see which fits your needs the bestJanuary 28, 2016 at 4:31 am #14224RichPMember

Breakaway Broadcast is designed to work with professional radio station equipment. You CAN use it with your FM light display transmitter but it won't make a big difference over the Audio Enhancer – plus BAE has special settings designed for low power (aka Part 15) transmitters that make it better suited for your application.

Running it on W10 for example is not possible. It also doesn't play nice with some of the latest drivers of some soundcards.TIP: Stereotool however is still being developed and updated and is very, very powerful
Stereotool seems much complicated compared to Breakaway Audio Enhancer, and that's why I like BAE in the first place I guess. Does there exist a howto that explains how we can use Stereotool to 'clone' our favorite BAE (on Windows 10)? Thanks in advance.

This is simply not true. 8)
I just moved to a computer based FM transmitter. The signal chain is all digital.

Besides there being more presets, unless your new transmitter allows "composite stereo" / MPX to be sent directly to it, OR pre-emphasized Left/Right audio directly to it, then your best bet is to stick with Breakaway Audio Enhancer since the "FM Mode" feature is better setup to pre-compensate for whatever your FM transmitter is going to do to the audio before it does its own pre-emphasis and composite stereo encoding.February 8, 2016 at 4:21 am #14228caaudioParticipant
I am looking forward to a new Breakaway release soon. Thank you!February 17, 2016 at 7:07 am #14229radio oude stijlMember
Ok. I stand corrected. Breakaway has not been updated for more than 5 years, does not run on the recent OS, the developer has other priorities and, although promised several times, there is no clue whatsoever about the release of a new version. Iff such a thing will ever exist.
In my book that is abandonware btw…February 18, 2016 at 4:17 pm #14230Dj BuikMemberBAE is running solid on Windows 10 64bit with the latest windows fixes (1511).
