This is a really good idea. I’ll think about it.
No hotkeys. I can live with that but it’s a pity. They’re quite handy and I’ve grown used to them. Could that be added to future versions of BAE?
Yes! It will come.

Indeed.. That EQ is applied AFTER the clipper, not before. It can be used to reduce cheap-tx overshoots if adjusted correctly, but if adjusted for taste, it will CAUSE overshoots, I guarantee it. 🙂

    Hi Reynold!

The best way to set it up is probably:

Breakaway Live INPUT: Sound card line in
Breakaway Live OUTPUT: Breakaway Pipeline 1
    Wirecast Input: Breakaway Pipeline 1
Wirecast Output: Sound card speaker out

If Wirecast has no output, you can use my free Audio Repeater/Resampler: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=728

If Wirecast has no way to select Breakaway Pipeline 1 as the Input, then you can select it as the default input device in Windows Control Panel.

    Does this help?
Forgive the impatience, are you releasing a new Enhancer too?
Yes, but not just yet — I have no new features to release for it yet 🙂. As far as I know the current release works perfectly.
Will the new preset(s) be available in Breakaway DJ?
Possibly yes. Zenith should be able to go right in, but Celeste would need to be adjusted, since it’s optimized for broadcast (lots of processing), not for large venue use (little processing, more dynamics required). I’m away from home at the moment, I’m in the US, so I currently don’t have access to any large venues to tweak a new preset 🙂.
By coincidence ?Or by demand (not really) ?
Mostly by demand. It was getting ready for release, I could have hung onto it a while longer, done more testing etc, but I figured now was as good a time as any. 😉

in reply to: Realtek ALC889 any good ? or not suitable for BB #10273

The best on-board MPX I have ever been able to achieve, was on a cheap ASRock board with Realtek 888.

This board was so cheaply built that it had no capacitor at all between the chip and the output jack. The result of this was that although there was also a serious DC offset, the output was completely DC STRAIGHT, and perfectly flat frequency response DC – 60k.

"Build quality" can mean a lot of different things depending on what you’re looking for 🙂.

You should be able to get below 10ms with Breakaway Live and a decent ASIO sound card.

Delay should be almost inaudible with 64 samples and ASIO. Perhaps I’ve missed something? I will take a look and see what I can do to bring it down further. Live does need some work to really be viable for live events, but I do plan to do it! 🙂

    Best,

    Here we go:

The PEQ2 was broken before (I simply forgot to add the code to the ASIO audio back-end, it worked fine in regular BBP) — now fixed.

PEQ2 controls are now also greyed out in low latency mode.

PEQ is only available in phase linear mode! This is intentional — phase linear PEQ adds latency, and we don’t have any room to spare in low latency mode, it’s already borderline. If you want low latency, you will have to use good pro equipment which does not need EQ compensation from the software.

Same with HPF vs Tilt — if you turn off the HPF, you will need a DC straight path (Marian Trace Alpha sound card), Tilt correction will not help without a HPF to limit the work it must do.

You’re absolutely right about the gui. I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you very much for the help in tracking it down, i will make sure it’s in perfect working order for 0.90.94.

    Shouldn’t be too long now.

I will make the old Zenith an obsolete preset (which means it will still be accessible) and the new zenith will be the regular zenith. I know if i don’t, *someone* somewhere will prefer the old one and complain that it’s not available. It never fails… 🙂

    Hi Luk!

I just tried in my 0.90.94 development versions, and using two BBP’s listening to the same Livelink 1 worked fine. If I remember correctly, I fixed it a while back, but after the 0.90.93 release. Hopefully it will work fine for you when 0.90.94 is released 🙂.
