I’m using Celeste preset too, and yes, it generates a precious sound, with instruments never heared on some songs, but for me have 2 little problems:

1.- The original is too overprocessed, I decrease the Final Drive at -1 and Power at 40.

2.- For my ears, the preset have a lot of treble, I want the same preset but with less treble and more bass-mid sound.

    Thanks to LeeXS! 😀
Hi Didac, actually you are right about the final drive, I was supposed to turn it down a bit before it went public but I forgot. When the current version is on 0 (on 50us Pre-emph!), it’s actually the max I’d recommend before you start to loose quality, I always test my presets maxed out and that’s how it was when i was racing it against the competition and boy, I think it raised some eyebrows indeed!

As for the heavy top end you are experiencing….that could be down to many reasons like the sound card you are using, your exciter or even the tilt settings. No 2 set ups will sound the same and to me, Celeste has no more top end Plutonium! try 50us pre-emph instead of 75us if you are using 75us and as for the extra bass you need, that’s what the bass level/shape sliders are for…you’ll also find that if you increase the bass it will balance out the top end issue you are having and give the perception of less treble but all this is nothing you don’t already know. 😉
Hi guys. been using BBP for a while now and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better I was shocked when I heard the Celeste preset! Can’t believe how good it sounds!
The reason I have signed up to forum is because I noticed the preset is still in beta and I wish it doesn’t get altererd as it’s perfect as it is.

Thank you to everyone involved! 🙂
Hi Chris and welcome, thanks for the feedback, glad you like. 😉

    Hi Timmy,

I’m really excited about the Celeste preset, the only way I can describe it, is if I said it was like Reference Heavy but on steroids! But under the hood, it’s actually nothing like Reference Heavy. If I were to pick a preset that it resembles, I’d say it sounds like Plutonium but with an a sharper edge and very finely tuned timings. In fact, if you A & B it against Plutonium very quickly you’d struggle to notice much difference straight away but throw something very busy at it, then watch it come alive, it sounds more "in front". It’s an FM dedicated to preset to sound loud but super clean, turn the final drive down a few Db’s and it’s equally suitable for web-casting also. It’s non-genre specific and uses 6 bands. 🙂

Point Blank is having some alterations with the tonal balance, mainly the front and back end EQ’s for a more flatter spectral output. 😀
I’m curious… What can we expect to see in the 0.90.94 release?

    – New Zenith
    – Loud City
    – New Eruption (I remember reading it was too "agressive" on the mid range)
    – ???

Looking forward to this new release! 🙂

New preset from me also if it meets Leif’s approval, called Celeste

Point Blank preset is also getting re-vamped! 😀

Finally had a good chance to listen the the samples and I must say I like! It has a very consistent, listenable non fatiguing sound. I notice, compared to Plutonium that this preset eliminates any tape hiss from the older recordings also.

I know this preset is obviously genre specific, but out of interest, what does it sound like with more, electronic, dance sounds? 🙂

Nice one and I agree, Quicktime shouldn’t do that as default! 😈

For pete’s sake, I can’t even hear these properly because my internet connection is being a pain in the ass as they keep buffering as they are nice and juicy .wavs!

Any way I can download these?
I took the liberty of adding "Preset Used" to your list. This is information that would be needed to reproduce the problem for our own ears. 🙂
Good idea 🙂

Hmmm, some interesting audio clips you have there? I’m liking the BBP ASIO + Marian Trace ones!

What power is that Rig that you built in the 3U black Rack mount chassis?

Also, I notice the photo of BBP+ on the laptop, is that Leif??

You will not need to adjust tilt if you have a DC straight exciter and STL using the Marian Trace but if exciter isn’t then it will still need adjusting so getting a DC straight sound card isn’t the answer to all problems! But it helps if the source, in this case, the sound card, is already straight.

There’s loads of suppliers stocking them here in the UK so I’ll probably grab one soon and let you guys know how I get on. 😀
