If I recall correctly the first nag/reminder happens after around a half hour in, then doesn't occur again until an hour or so later. It seems intentionally slightly random so you can't schedule your own interruptions.

Wow. I truly wasn't aware how ubiquitous Leif's algorithms are. That's pretty awesome. I have only kinda recently started being conscious of individual developers of awesome software and following their works like one would a band/artist. I feel I'm just now becoming aware of how special something like BreakawayOne is, after learning a little about Telos and Omnia.

I happened to come across Volume Logic randomly while it was in beta stages and I was lucky enough to be accepted as a tester. Just like I happened across OctiMAX years before as a teen and had my Winamp completely transformed. I would use it to make mix tapes to play in my friend's car when we'd ride around town. I'm even looking at getting a Surface tablet so I can take it with me in real-time. I even bought a Plantronics Voyager BT 'headset' back in the day because I somehow got it in my mind that the VL tech went into it.

Now I intentionally have LC tech processing my audio well over 85% of the time.

While it's not something I'd personally use, maybe Leif will end up putting up the source code to allow somebody to turn it into a VST. Or perhaps convert it himself.

So a few days ago, after some more looking, I found a forum post with an attachment. It has a 32-bit VST port of a Foobar2000 plugin, which uses the algorithm I posted about. Best of all it doesn't clip when using it at the end of the chain. It's still not as flexible as the Foobar2000 BS2B plugin, having no interface [edit: apparently it does, it just doesn't show up in BA1's VST host]. I still recommend folks giving it a listen. Maybe an update to the VST host to display generic VST UI content?

No telling how long that attachment will be available, but it looks like it's been there for a couple years. I'm liking this one so far.

Again, this specific thing is more about lessening headphone fatigue by reducing the extreme separation starting from the bottom end and not so much about making sure the subwoofer has the right phase.

I'm coming here about it because I want Breakaway to have some more things that ST doesn't have. Up to Lord Leif to decide whether it's worth messing with, or if enough people would use this type of thing.

Its interface actually works. Just make sure to disable reflections and raise the width all the way. I'll have to give it some more time to really compare the two. It doesn't seem as transparent as the MeierCrossfeed.dll]

Thanks. I was thinking about this, but wouldn't that affect the sound of BA1 in the quieter parts? I was under the impression I should give it as much audio data as possible to work with. Though I guess it's a non-issue now that I found a properly functioning alternative VST.

(edit: Leif even made a broadcast TV processor before Breakaway One called the Aero.Air. Maybe somebody'll post a BA1 compatible preset from it.) 8)

You can make sure windows is assigning it the correct audio device by pressing the windows key then typing "Sound Mixer Options" without the quotes to enter the windows advanced sound mixer. Make sure Line 1 (Breakaway) is selected as the Master Output or as the chosen output for iTunes in case anything but the default is chosen.

I'm sure there is also a setting in iTunes to make it use a certain device, though I don't know what it is or how to get to it. Google will probably have more answers for that part considering how popular iTunes is.

Sometimes plugging in headphones or connecting something with Bluetooth will make Windows think you want to listen to that device instead of letting Breakaway process the audio first. This will change the default device, so remember to change it back through the mixer or Window's Sound panel.
