Rolloff….12, but I wouldn't go any higher than 15 and then ONLY if you hear nasties coming through. I've never went higher than 15 because it muffles the high end to much. Start at 12 and then listen. Processing is subjective.  πŸ˜‰

Depends on the sound card and if it causes distortion or not. I run BBP-Live at -10 on my Delta 44 sound card mainly because I highly EQ Live and that is where it seems to sound best. JesseG will be able to give you better guidance than I because he is one of the developers. Cheers!  πŸ˜‰

The plugin link is not working. However it looks like the Breakaway website has gotten some overhauling in the last few days which could be the beginning of great news! πŸ˜‰
All an attenuator does is lower or raise the input volume for Breakaway. You should be able adjust the output volume on your player or through software that will work just as well. If you must have an attenuator(s) let me know and I’ll email them to you.

Nobody wants the new software more than I do, however I don’t think being unkind is going to cause Leif to run and jump right on it! πŸ™„

Does anyone have the latest live (90.96b) they can throw on a dropbox or something?

Hopefully those being down signals good news in the near future! πŸ’‘

Meanwhile you can get the demo software or purchase the software here:

pkriegler…check out the discussion on this forum. According to what I read there, it should just work as a plugin. πŸ™‚

To my ears, the unprocessed files are flat sounding and I don’t hear any distortion. Processed files, again to me, sound as if they have a touch of mid range boost and moderate high end boost using a multiband processor. I can mimic the high end (treble) using BBP Zenith setting. 8)
no that link don’t work for me either, not to worry, do they use the same processing for net as radio? same settings maybe?
No. Z100 in New York is owned by Clear Channel Media & Entertainment.

All CC stations use the Orban PC1101e card for online stream processing. They have specially made presets rolled for CC stations by a recording engineer in Nashville, TN. The preferred method is to select one of the specially made presets based on format. So without looking at the specifics of a CC station’s online processor settings, it’s gonna be impossible to get the "exact" sound they have. 8)

On air, all CC stations use Omnia processors for FM and Orban processors for AM.

You are joking, right? Surely you do not think this consumer enhancer is or can be in the same league as BBP or BBP-Live?

Mind sharing your Rustonium settings? That webcast sounds really good to me. πŸ™‚

The Dorrough DAP 310 Multiband Audio Processor is one of the best hardware processors I ever used in the radio business. Now that I am involved in Internet broadcasting, I’d like to find a way to have similar processing.

I’ve never heard of those so I can’t comment on it.

After playing with Live for a while, I have some questions. Is there a way to equalize the levels when the Bypass Processing button is pressed and when it’s not? The level difference is dramatic.

When you bypass processing then you are doing exactly that so as far as I know there is no way to equalize levels when in bypass mode.

    quote :

One thing I’ve noticed is that the bass notes at 2:28 on “Good Vibrations” by The Beach Boys are distorted. The CD is clean. I’ve played with all of the settings, but I don’t know what I’m missing. The settings (Range, Power, etc.) are all set at defaults.

Back off the bass SHAPE about to -10 to -15 (more if you want a lower end thump) and cut your bass down until you get the amount of bass you are looking for. One thing I would suggest is playing around with the settings some. I have no luck on any "default" setting except the news/talk preset I flip on sometimes when I’m listening to talk programming through my computer. For music, any of the presets will get you very good results….you just gotta decide what sound you want and go from there. For example, I’ve owned BAL now for well over a year and everyone raved about the setting -Plutonium – but I just never had any luck with it. But after getting a new set of speakers (studio monitors is actually what BSW calls them πŸ˜‰ ) for my home system…now I LOVE IT! I made some adjustments to Plutonium to get the sound I like but it truly does give fantastic results when used with good high quality speakers. So play, play, play then let your ears decide! πŸ˜€ Once you get a sound you like, listen and listen again over the course of several days before making more changes. Another thing some people do is adjust processing every time they "think" they hear something that sounds wrong. I can tell you as one who used to be like that, NO processor (hardware or software) will ever suit you if you do that type of adjusting on a processor. Tweak it, get a sound that pleases your ears, listen and listen some more before changing it because, in my case at least, 9 times out of 10, it’s either what I call "ear trickery" OR something OTHER than the processing that’s gone astray!
Personal preference, and what the listeners and also your trusted opinions (on great reference systems with experienced ears) tell you. The same goes for any adjustments to it. You might try Rustonium, that’s a very solid and mature sound that is good on basically all content, except for maybe a classical music station. You won’t sound as good as Rustonium in an Omnia.9 (not to mention Undoβ„’ etc) but it sounds pretty good anyways.
A longtime "oldies" fan, I made the switch to "Rustonium" after some guidance from a good friend. I have to say it is an excellent preset and the only one I use now.

No I haven’t tried that. WKYT in Lexington, KY is the local affiliate so I guess I should see what if anything they can or will tell me about the mess I heard last night.
