I loaded both of these presets into Omnia 9/xe and I personally think both need some tweaks. :-\
As we say processing is subjective. 😛kes11MemberEffects plugins are, if memory serves me correctly, AFTER AGC but BEFORE the multiband.
kes11MemberA link to your stream might help too. 😮
kes11MemberTry:
Range – 50
Power – 55
Bass Cut – Set this to -40 or lower (Compressing the bass will clear up some of the T sounds you're hearing)Bass shape is fine at 0
This will give you a different sound but it will allow the MB to work a little more and that will help. I would make sure that no speaker settings are enabled. Also make sure Noise Reduction is on (checked) so the MB section works at it's optimum.
If those setting do not satisfy try The Regulator setting. If you want CLEAN and well defined sound that you can sculpt try Zenith. Bass cut -50 Range 54 Power 71.
kes11MemberBreakaway uses multiband downward expansion which is equal to a noise gate. Try lowering the ITU Input Reference Level to -23 and see if that helps. I use that ITU level with all the presets and it works very well.
kes11MemberZenith is nice and balanced, also very transparent.
kes11MemberIf Breakaway is so bad that it warrants the kind of negativity we see here then why are people STILL using it? If it's that bad and "outdated" then why not go with the latest Omnia, Orban, Wheatstone or Stereo Tool offering? Being negative is not going to make an update come faster and it's not going to motivate the developer or his team to move it up on the list or make it a priority. So please if you really want a new Breakaway keep checking back or catch Leif on Facebook. And if you need something NOW then check out Omnia 9/XE or the latest offering of Stereo Tool. In the meantime, I am going to continue to wait, enjoy my version of Breakaway and look with optimism for a day in the future that I hope will see a Breakaway update.
December 7, 2014 at 4:44 am in reply to: This is the third year in a row Leif promised us a new version of Breakaway… #13984kes11MemberThere is an old saying here in Kentucky. "You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar." Let's all be nice! Leif is very busy and so is Jessee and the other folks involved with BBP, Omnia9 and the Telos Alliance. I'm sure that a new BBP will come in time. 😉
kes11MemberPersonally, I would run the clipper at +1.5 (more loudness) with Reference Settings because, in my opinion, that is a purist setting. Processing is one of the most subjective arts that exist in radio and streaming. If you are the station owner, engineer, PD or whomever that has the authority to set the sound of that station, and it's the sound you are seeking then it works. If not, tweak away. While asking for input might be considered one of those proverbial "best practices," in the end, the person with final decision making authority has to decide on his or her station's "signature sound" and move on. 🙂
kes11Member60Hz HPF should work universally. I use it on my Tannoy 601A monitor speakers, headphones and laptop speakers. Breakaway doesn't support any speaker setup above standard STEREO (left & right).
kes11MemberI run my HPF at 60Hz. Cuts out the rumble and helps to bring out the low end I care about.
kes11MemberTurn your final drive down.

No how do I get that setting?
[/quote]If Rustonium isn't in your presets then something is amiss. :-\
I have BBP and BBP-Live. It's in both. I recommend you re-download and reinstall.kes11MemberI've searched the forum and can't find anything. JesseG would be able to answer your question. 😉
kes11MemberHave you tried Rustonium?
