But as far as I know it is not DC straight (almost, but not like Trace Alpha)?

i use this one:

The fact that he still doesn't dare to admit Breakaway is abandoneware is getting ridiculous. I hope he will be at IBC this year.

And has absolutely nothing in common with Breakaway…?
. Stereo Tool maxed out is like $150.
I'm sorry, but it is $420 maxed out…radio oude stijlMember
Why? Updates are promised for 3 years in a row now (or is it 4?). The most recent promise is as recent as the one mentioned above (october 2014). Made by Breakaway Support.
I've said this several times before and I will repeat it again: I love Breakaway (use it on-air) but Leif promised something again and again and is now playing dead as far as Breakaway is concerned. Either tell us Breakaway can be added to the list of abandonware or… deliver!I'm sorry, I can't let go.

I wanted to install Breakaway Live or Breakaway Audio Enhancer on my netbook/tablet that runs Win8.1 x86 (the real deal, not RT), but when I try to start it, it just says to contact support@oreans.com. I tried to email them but i'm not sure they'll have an answer for me… Do you have some ideas? I got to run BL even on my old 2004 laptop with a P4 and also my other small Atom netbook Samsung NC10… I guess this has to do with Win8.1 but I don't really know what's going on. Tried running it as an administrator but it didn't work.Got a quick reply from Claesson Edwards support:
quote :HelloThe current version of Breakaway is not compatible with windows 8. We plan to release a new version early next year that will be compatible.
Breakaway support
So I have to wait… New version, hum? Early next year, hum?…
So… we're in the last month of the first quarter of 2015. Before I start asking the wrong questions, can somebody define "early next year" for me?
Is it reasonable to assume the release of the new version will happen in this first quarter? Or is this just another broken promise?radio oude stijlMember
I haven't "pulled away". 🙂 I'll agree that Breakaway needs a refresh at least to keep what's existing still working. At the very least.
Glad to see you are still around Jesse…radio oude stijlMemberSome say negativity isn't helping. And that is true. But saying nothing and blowing kisses to Leif because of this 4 year old software isn't helping either…
FACT: Leif promised a new BBP in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Where is it?
FACT: Leif puts more time in developing his carstereo than in a new BBP
FACT: Breakaway is NOT working fine… Using the best audiocard available (Marian Trace) for FM output you have to use an old driver because the rest of the world (Microsoft, Marian) kept on developing and Breakaway is NOT keeping up with those developements… How long before something really breaks down?
QUESTION: where is Leif on this forum? And where is Jesse? Is he pulling away from Breakaway as well?I'm not angry about Leif joining Telos. I would have done exactly the same.
But it's the silence and the broken promises (isn't that the same as lying?) that makes me feel very, very disappointed
Basically all software Leif developed on his own before is abandonware and so is Breakaway. He just hasn't got the courage to say it I guess…December 6, 2014 at 4:17 pm in reply to: This is the third year in a row Leif promised us a new version of Breakaway… #13983radio oude stijlMember
Then why you dont buy this software?
I already have… And if you read my post you know why I still use Breakaway
I've heard, from a very good source, that Leif will release a new Breakaway version in 201
Lets cross our fingers and pray….. ;)
Yep. And I heard the same in 2013 and 2012… And it's exactly the reason I 'm a bit… irritated. Leif is keeping up everybody's hope but doesn't deliver. And he doesn't have to. But at least admit that nothing is going to be developed for Breakaway, that the software is and stays 'as is'. Remember this DJ Buik?

I wrote Leif a private message message thru his Facebook page. This is what he said, and i quote: "I will get back to Breakaway when I can."

First of all a happy 2013 for everybody! At the start of this new year i'm very curious what Leif got in his sleeve for this year…
Come-on Leif, chime in an show what you are cooking in your secret kitchen. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Quote from: Dj Buik on January 16, 2012, 09:56:01 PM
quote :My last question in this 'status upgrade' thread goes about the plans for 2012.
I'm a passionate Breakaway user, and i'm curiuous about the future thats all…….Readings Leif's Facebook tells me his carstereo is more important than Breakaway and it's users. And again: he can make that choice if he wants to, it's his life after all. But… tell us about that choice and don't stay silent about it…

Why? Have you checked out StereoTool? It is what Breakaway should have been by now. With both Declipper and Natural Dynamics… It's the better interface of BBP and the lack of really killer Stereotoolpresets that makes me still use BBP on-air (with Declipper and Natural Dynamics as plug-in). If only Jesse would make a 'Plutonium' preset for Stereotool… 😉radio oude stijlMember
I don't know if I can reveal this, but Leif will release a new version of Breakaway beginning next year.
I love Breakaway, but… I've heard such promises many times. Several of those promises came from Leif himself.
Let's stay positive, it's not abandonware like some people sayed on this forum.
Wanna bet?
radio oude stijlMemberHans van Zutphen (Stereotool) mentioned the Marian Seraph AD2, but that´s a whopping 2.5 times the price of a Trace Alpha.
It does offer AES/EBU input and output with built-in resampling though, that probably explaines the price.radio oude stijlMemberSorry for late reply, but the DEVA DB90 has a digital output:

You need 32bit OS and old driver for marian trace 2.02 or 2.01
http://www.marian.de/files/trace_alpha/
Hi Boki, the link refers to 2.07. Could you post a link to the old drivers?radio oude stijlMember
That’s why your PC for processing need to be 32bit system. And XP.
I know. But now that a 64bit driver is finally available I kind of hoped that I could run BBP on W7
