dancemusicradioParticipant
it won’t let me install it in breakaways folder if i browse to it i can’t click okay but if i browse back to winamps folder i can click okay
dancemusicradioParticipantwould i be able to load the standalone version in breakaway or would it be just the winamp one?
dancemusicradioParticipanthardcore i do see your point about how much music now days is so compressed, breakaway is an fm audio processer which is essential for running a radio station, why is this? competition, all commercial stations are in competition with each other and the sound of the station is one of those things they all try to better each other on. in some cases stations compress their audio even more so much in fact their probably over the legal limit eith 50 or 75. i will admit like everyone here i love breakaway, it has made top quality processing affordable for people who aren’t commercial stations who haven’t the money for certain other processers and the best thing is that this one sounds better than the 10 20 grand competition.
dancemusicradioParticipantso basically live has the best audio quality out of the 3? but live doesn’t compress the audio like broadcast? and does live have all the presets that broadcast has? as for encoders i use sam and feed broadcast via the pipelines using ks on breakaway and the use soundcard agc feature on sam. i can hear the results through my soundcard but breakaway doesn’t process anything other than sam which is how i want it.
dancemusicradioParticipantthanks jesse. i’ve found a setting i’m happy with.
dancemusicradioParticipantmy settings now are power and range at 40 and speed at 30 so how much would you recomend me to reduce the final drive to? some of my songs are lower than others so maybe should i just have the power at a high setting but not the range?
dancemusicradioParticipanti don’t like the new shoutcast website either, for example if i type in the search, i can’t go to the next page of results
dancemusicradioParticipantaacplus at 48 kbps with parametric sterio sounds better than aacplus at 48 kbps with normal sterio. the parametric sterio was designed as far as i know specially to make lower bitrate aacplus streams to be of a good quality. i have done the test myself by doing the following. i ran an icecast localy on my pc, had 2 encoders in sam. one using 48 kbps and normal sterio, another using 48 kbps using parametric sterio, both aacplus, personally i found that the stream with parametric sterio sounded better while the stream with normal sterio sounded a little tinny. give the parametric sterio a try. i think you will agree with me. even 16 kbps aacplus with parametric sterio sounds great.
dancemusicradioParticipantsorry to dig this thread up but, how do you find the samplerate in sam? thanks
dancemusicradioParticipantdoes the slam not go up to 4? would that not give you more base? i have both bassfx and impact clunk on and at their high settings. sounds good. base shape is at 0 and so is base boost.
