It seems that the "Very High Quality" mode is just pushing composite clipper's CPU usage up with a result of higher demod peaks, which is great.

Sorry for responding after 7 years, but in the meantime, both software programs have progressed a lot.
    Here is a newer comparison:

It seems that Stereo Tool has implemented some options Leif implemented in Omnia.9 (composite clipper that drives demodulated audio up to 160%, to name one).

Nope, Leif implemented these options to Omnia.9 that were introduced in Stereo Tool first. This is why Hans (ST dev) is now working for Omnia as well. Composite clipper and Undo's declipping part were Hans' creations although Leif improved the composite clippers efficiency later.

Isn't it quite obvious why the MPXtool site is still down? Omnia has it now in a box. Of course, you can still buy the software from the Claesson Edwards store if you can find it before you are lured to the Omnia hardware mania 😀

If I interpret the Configurator UI correctly, you should be able to set Encoder Line input from Audio Devices, there you should select the corresponding Breakaway Pipeline that you are using in BBP to output the audio. So BBP output -> Encoder Line Input. Also, mAirlist should be set to output to another Breakaway Pipeline that you wish, and then that you set as the input of BBP. So mAirlist output -> BBP input.

Hope this helps, just installed the trial version of mAirlist 😀

Another bad thing is that if external clock changes to a different rate, same happens. WATCHDOG LEIF!

    Hi Stuart!

    We will.

I'm also considering adding some pro audio features to Breakaway Live. How about 8-band true parametric eq, 1/6 octave RTA, pink noise generation (all for speaker calibration), and adjustable volume-adaptive loudness control? Sound interesting?:)

    Best,

Very, very old topic here, but Leif was thinking of some killer features for Live. Too bad this is not going to ever happen 🙁

Okay, very old topic.. But could someone please upload the Audio Resampler program? It was awesome, makes me cry to see the original VAC repeater in action since it cant run very long time until underflowing.

Moderators should also correct the software topic, either remove the links or replace them with working ones.

But can you adjust the buffering?

100 ms, that’s quite a lot.. since stable LAN connection would bare with less buffering..

Are delays lower than 500ms possible? Something like 50ms would be cool. FLAC!

And always remember that it’s better to have processing at TX site rather than in studio, if there is a limited bandwidth available (but enough for ~lossless 44.1kHz stereo) for program feed.

You could try experimenting with sending S/PDIF through real fiber optic (glass!), and see how it works..

First of all, what kind of "decoder" you have at the transmitter site? I think whichever soundcard that supports 192kHz output from digital output is suitable. ESI Juli@ is perfectly suitable also for being the analog output to transmitter which would lead to a recommendation that you should move the whole processing to the TX.. it’s better to move only program feed and not the whole MPX through STL..

Yes it is.. depending on the distance you might need also some extra hardware to keep the S/PDIF signal strong and clean all the way to the transmitter site (glass fiber instead of plastic?)
