Very interesting topic!
Are you saying one will achieve better sound using livelink? Isn’t there much to be gained using a proper sound card as opposed to the livelink?

AudioMemberYorkie & Jesse,
Thanks for your input. RME audio products do look very impressive.. pricey though! 🙂

AudioMemberHi Jesse,
Thank you for your answer and opinion on the matter of encoders. I am all for quality so I my preference would clearly be Edcast… Obviously a sleak piece of software coming from Leif would be awesome… Leifcast built into Breakaway, wouldn’t that be sweet? 🙂
Have you had a chance to post once again your Edcast preferred settings into the newly created MP3 Encoder Recommended Settings?
Thanks & Cheers,

AudioMemberThanks… we’ll give it a try 🙂

AudioMemberHi Jesse,
Would you know when we can expect your new preset: Passive Agressor? We have been looking for a rock preset recently and are hoping P.A. might be it. How would you say it compares or differs from Rustonium?
We have tried Plutonium, Eruption, Rock, Celeste, New York, Twente and Rustonium they each have their pros and cons. We are looking for a open yet processed sound. Intelligible voices are important too. Would you have any suggestions for a rock web-radio?
Cheers!

4. Website link
5. Streaming link
This information would be interesting and the most easily accessible to start with.
Getting configuration info seems almost impossible as stations do compete against one another and are usually quite secretive about their actual set-up.

AudioMemberWow! What a tease!!
We love how it sounds on rock tracks: Hole, Nirvana, Pink Floyd: amazing!
Can’t wait to see this come through in the next release! 🙂

AudioMemberWe have noticed the same thing here with BBP…
No need to shut BBP off and on again, just go into the Calibration screen hit test and the CPU usage will be back down to its lowest possible percentage for a while, check one week later it will have increased considerably, check 2 weeks later the percentage will increasingly be higher and so on… Could it be an issue with the pipelines instead?
I remember reading of a problem Leif could not reproduce on his system, that is the CPU increasing steadily until the audio would start shuttering… Somehow there is something to be looked at with this CPU usage. Luckily enough for us we haven’t had the audio shutter problem here. 😀
Any news on a release date for the new Breakaway updates or new product launch, etc? 8)

AudioMemberHi Celar,
Excellent Post! That will be most useful when working with the PEQ controls. Thanks a lot! 🙂

AudioMember

What about off-site servers? I gather we’ll need to set each of those up with the new box?
I’m not sure what you mean here.
What I mean is basically, what about our webradios running on off-site servers, the only way to benefit from this new box would be to install it physically by the server… too bad it can’t be done via software only (on a server) as the motto of Breakaway has always been "why buy expensive boxes when the software can run on any PC". We are not opposed to paying the big bucks to get top quality, it would just be a life saver (no need to change our whole set-up) to have access to the new box features directly on a server… Does this make sense ? 😕
Oh!!! What’s this 0.90.77 version, the real deal or just a typo? 😳
Audio
AudioMember
It’ll only come with the hardware box and will require the totally custom audio card (part of the copy protection) that’s in it in order to be useful.
Very cool! So that’s going to be a hardware box, not one of these sound-cards to be installed on a computer à la Orban or Sound4, correct? Very exciting indeed!
What about off-site servers? I gather we’ll need to set each of those up with the new box?
Audio
AudioMember
Way more than just waiting for 2-3 presets, especially with the new products
Wow… that’s exciting! More teasing? 🙂 So that’s what has kept Leif so busy lately! 💡
Seriously when can we expect these new products? Are we talking new features or brand new members to the Breakaway family? Say full control? 😉 Hopefully there will be an software version including full control and not just in the hardware box version.
Cheers and thanks for such a great product!

AudioMemberThanks Jesse!
You are right New York is pretty close, the preset that never sleeps 💡
I assume that most users on this forum would never use this preset online ❓ I like it 8)
