KeymasterI believe that it is a single user license, so it can only exist on one PC. You might be able to read the EULA when you install the new copy (It should exist in the folder as well). Obviously, a fee is expected to change hands each time a license is issued. I am just not sure if there is provision in the agreement to keep a backup copy.

KeymasterWhat OS?
Have yu looked at this topic?New Breakaway Update & BSOD/Win10 Fix For Professional Versions

KeymasterThanks DJ Buik. I eventually bit the bullet this past week and let Windows 10 update. I'm pleased to say that BADJ was one of the few things which survived without some tweaking. However, my point still remains that any development on BADJ seems to have stalled big time.
Milky
KeymasterGreat news that something is starting to be done about this. I bought Breakaway DJ, which seems to be the "poor cousin", and not even mentioned in the email. It also has the lowest number of presets.
If it is scheduled to be upgraded, I point out that the "free" migration to Windows 10 must be completed by July 29.

KeymasterThere is bound to be a delay of some sort, for every time the digital signal is processed. A lot will depend on the PC's processor – the faster it is, the lower the delay. ASIO is also a much more efficient way of processing, so the latency could drop to only a few milliseconds. I am using Breakaway DJ with ASIO, and cannot discern any out-of-synch with music videos.
I believe the demo is exactly the same as the full version, except a voice-over drops in from time to time.

KeymasterThe latest major update to Win 10 seems to have fixed most BA problems reported in the past. The particular one your debug dump refers to is from the version of Virtual Audio Cables which is incorporated in the product. Try the Win10 update first, then check for the latest version of VAC.
Milky
KeymasterThe "VAC" prefix gives it away. It is part of the Virtual Audio Cables program which is used in BA. You MAY be able to install a fresh version of Virtual Audio Cables, and that MAY fix it.

KeymasterObviously, something has changed in Win 10 that BADJ is not aware of. It might be the audio driver that has been substituted and not as compatible as before. JesseG has indicated that a new build is on the way, so let's hope that that will fix things, or maybe Microsoft will issue a driver update.
Milky
KeymasterWhy are you using ASIOforALL? That is a software driver unrelated to Breakaway. You also have BA set to 48kHz, and Windows set to 44.1 (CD quality). They all need to be on the same rate.
Milky
KeymasterHave you tried NOT using "KS" (Kernel Streaming)? The chip might not support it.

KeymasterI accept all of your comments, madmanjohn. I am a patient man, and I feel I got value for money on my original purchase of Breakaway DJ. I won't be rushing into upgrading my studio PC to Win 10, just because it is there. In fact, if it hadn't been for a recent meltdown of my hard drive, I would still happily be on Win XP, instead of migrating to Win 7.
I would just like an indication from Leif that SOMETHING is going to happen, somewhere into the (near) future, so that I have something to anticipate. It's the not knowing that most of us find hard to deal with.
We have a (crude) saying in Australia, "Piss, or get off the pot". That means, either deliver the goods, or an intention, or simply tell everyone that the honeymoon is over.

If I was Leif I would at least talk to the users of my software…
[/quote]That, to me is the biggest disappointment, too. I am generally happy with the product I bought, but I would love to have some more presets (BADJ only has four), and I am sure there are some tweaks that could be made if I really looked hard. We are all in a time warp, because development stopped before Windows 8. With Win 10 on the horizon, we are all at least two OS behind, with no prospects of advancement.
Milky
KeymasterNobody, other than Leif, knows that. We still visit in the hope that there will be some updates, but, I hear that Leif is too busy on other projects to have any time to devote to it.
Milky
KeymasterNo, Jesse meant that you install VAC and use its inputs and outputs instead of those in BAL. Apparently, the licensed version of VAC bundled with BAL has been superseded by a better version, and this sometimes fixes the glitches.
Milky
KeymasterLet's put it this way. If you want a solution right here and now, either take Boki's advice or look elsewhere.
