Q106Member
Ever cleaned one? UGH
Q106Membercheck this thread.good luck
Q106MemberWhen hell freezes over? That’s what they about the Saints winning the super bowl.(ha)..But i sure understand your point.Nothing better that being you own boss..
Q106MemberThat is indeed genius.Just when we thought Mr.Orban was getting sleepy on us.If this box is priced near the Omnia One,it will be a steal.I wondered how long it would take Orban to come around.
Q106MemberIt’s an internet only station now. They lost the FM channel in the Big Apple.Sounded decent on some stuff.Of course when you’re doing Crown and diet coke, they all sound good.(ha).i notice it does not have much high end.Don’t think it’s an orban card,if so, it was poorly setup.
CBS uses those pc 1100 cards by the trainloads and most of their streams sound pretty good.February 21, 2010 at 9:27 pm in reply to: FM Composite Clipping ( mpx clipping software or hardware ) #9945Q106MemberSome mods have been done along the way.5532’s replaced with LME49720’s.Made a huge difference. Also more current caps have been used as well.Box was meant for older processors and with today’s newer digital boxes, you wouldn’t need it.

Used this hardware version in the past with orban 8000 and 8100a models, gives it darn good kick.Lots of station still use these,it is a current box.You will be LOUD…
February 21, 2010 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Orban step it up a gear..Is BBP up to the challenge? #9879Q106MemberDon’t think Leif would be a player, after all, he already has the best product and nothing beats being your own boss.

Wasn’t a big fan of the Orban 8500.Did not care for the bass management and i found unless you ran hard bass clipper and a real conservative preset, it would pump. The high end had too much distortion for my ears.I liked the 6EXI alot, louder with much more clarity.Don’t worry Mr. Foti will have a weapon at NAB,i’m sure.
Q106MemberDITTO sgeirk, I’d like to hear the offered solution,as well. And whether it worked for Adamh.
Q106MemberBeautiful..I was stationed in Korat many years ago.We rocked with my little 10 watt AM .Did an
American music TOP 20 on the Thai station at Korat.Studio was in the back of a movie theater.
It had a huge signal, think it was on 880.Fun times and great people. Got any openings??Q106MemberDepends on the IDR setting. You really need to demo it.Many major market stations use this box for DOMINANT formats.Call BGS in FL for a free demo.I think the current street price is about $2795.00.
Q106Memberspectral intermodulation is the most serious flaw with wideband AGC’s.The Ariane leveler is in a class of it’s own.You would have to demo one to find out what i mean.
Q106MemberMost compellor uses are pre-STL and usually the processor AGC is defeated .Otherwise you may have 2 AGC’s fighting eachother.I don’t believe the AGC in BBP can be defeated. Also the compellor is not as transparent as you would believe.ARIANE probably has the best AGC leveler on the market. It works MAGIC on audio.
