Anyone tried the software on windows 7 and if so what is the result?
May 25, 2009 at 3:18 am #4787LeifKeymasterSome have. It appears to run perfectly in W7 32-bit. In W7 64-bit, it runs great, but the toolbar doesn’t (yet) work.

May 28, 2009 at 9:19 pm #4788AnonymousGuestI’ve got it running on Windows 7 RC 64-bit and can’t get any sound out of BA after the test because each time I click on a slider to make an adjustment, it jumps all the way to the lowest setting (volume has gone to mute, bass has dropped to -50, etc) and no amount of clicking and dragging seems to allow for any adjustments to be made. How can I adjust the settings without this happening?

May 29, 2009 at 4:32 pm #4790AnonymousGuestGreat! Is there a text file somewhere that I could manually change the settings in to at least try out BA in my application?
Thanks,
StuartJune 6, 2009 at 3:45 pm #4791AnonymousGuestHave a strange sound bug on Windows 7 64 while using breakaway audio enhancer simultaneously with srs audio sandbox. Everything is ok in the first 30-40 minutes after the os has booted, but when start a great mess: Strange noises appears, breakaway can’t find any sound drivers in os, and even can’t close itself. Tried to use only Breakaway without SRS but had the same issue. Changing default sound playback in control panel doesn’t solve the issue, Only reboot helps. I think it is something with the way 64bit Os manages the drivers, though it is just my unprofessional opinion. Thanks in advance.
June 6, 2009 at 7:38 pm #4792LeifKeymasterStrange indeed! Which version of Breakaway Audio Enhancer are you running?

June 6, 2009 at 11:35 pm #4793AnonymousGuest1.20.12. By the way when I have this issue I can’t close breakaway in tray, it says that the driver is busy or something, and locks up…
June 7, 2009 at 6:59 am #4794LeifKeymasterSounds like a driver problem. If you have a different sound card to try with (for example a USB headset would work), we could find out for sure whether the problem is with breakaway or the driver.

June 7, 2009 at 7:34 pm #4795AnonymousGuestI don’t have any other soundcards to check at the moment but I’m gonna check it out as soon as I’ll have one. Need to admit that when I was using XP (x86) and installed Breakaway audio enhancer ,and guess what, it worked like a charm. Then I decided to try Windows 7 beta and then the issue I mentioned above started to happen. By the way I’ve forgotten to mention what soundcard I have. It’s motherboard integrated Realtek ALC882, motherboard – Asus P5LD2.

Have you had a chance to look into this? I just tried BA Broadcast on 7 RC and got the same results.
Is there a text file I can tinker with to manually adjust the setting values without having to interact with the sliders that do not work?

June 30, 2009 at 3:49 am #4797LeifKeymasterMan, this is what I get for writing too complicated programs.. There’s actually a workaround, I think it’s been in there all along — I completely forgot it was there until I stumbled across it in the code!!
Stuart, try the following:
Open breakaway.ini (you should find it in the localstore, you’ll probably have to do a file search)
Find the [Master] section
Add the following:
code :AbsoluteMouseCursor=1
Restart Breakaway. That should do it!

///Leif[/quote]Thanks, but I can’t seem to find breakaway.ini. It yields no results when searching even after unhiding system files.
July 2, 2009 at 4:21 am #4799LeifKeymasterGosh, I love Vista and Windows 7. They make the computer so much easier to use.
Try searching in the "Users" folder, it should be in there — not under Program Files.

July 2, 2009 at 3:57 pm #4800AnonymousGuestGot it; it works great now! I thought I did a systemwide search which came up empty but it is in:
C:, Users, Username, AppData, Local, VirtualStore, Program Files (x86), Breakaway.
Thanks.
