I want to test a setup to provide a full FM MPX signal to an output and a separate HD output for a stream.

Do I need the Full FM, a PassThru and an HD core to provide the 2 outputs from the one input.  Input card is Marian Trace Alpha.

I have tried to set this up but I get I/O Status errors which I think are related to the fact that I am using the same input set for FM and HD cores.

    Assistance appreciated.

    Scott.

Hi! I'm only an HD core user, so I'm not completely certain if this is correct, but I believe you only need the Full FM core. It appears to come with a primary MPX output and a non MPX (HD?) L/R Output, as you can see on the right side of the image.

    hello,
You should able to use same input for full fm with hd core + streaming in ASIO mode. (do not enable any WDM when is asio in use)
Marian trace Alpha have only one I/O A/D and D/A analog converters. Trce8 give more I/O.

    best.

I'm almost certain he doesn't need an HD core either. Full FM comes with an L/R non-MPX output equivalent to what one would get from an HD core. You would only need two cores if you plan on applying different processing to each output.

Yes, i agree with you for option you provide but Trace Alpha soundcard have only one analog output, to use for the mpx signal. The full FM can't connect directly with built-in stream encoder, only the Hd core can. Internet radios need different processing than FM radio, he need to enable (buy) an HD core with the streming encoder, or another soundcard (like trace8, have four stereo outputs) to use L/R option to external streaming encoder.

    best.

    Thank you for clarifying 🙂

If HD core enable with Full fm core, there is more input options on HD – misc – main input.

    best.

Thank you ddtop and MrKlorox for your replies.

After total confusion with setting Breakaway One up they decided to go with a hardware processor.  We had I/O Status errors and couldn't find a setting we'd made earlier through all the tabs and no support documentation so there was no way they were going to deal with this software.

i tried following along with Leif's videos on YouTube but as soon as you want to do something that is not what he is demonstrating you're on your own and again with no documentation you never know what you've set incorrectly that is causing an error or giving you results you are not expecting.

Great software with tons of options but without some guidance documentation a hardware box became the solution .. complete with a full manual! 🙂

Maybe I'll tackle the software again later.

    Thanks again,

    Scott
